Nairalanders I noticed on this travel section we don't have any forum for people that intend to travel to Canada just for visiting or tourism we only got Canada student visa forum and when people try to ask for help on there people don't render any help. I'm not a Visa guru myself. I created this so people can drop there problem and some Nairalanders that knows better can answer them back. Thanks 58 Likes 9 Shares |

I know how frustrating it can be when you try to get information from the Student Visa session, all you see is "Medical hopefuls" and lots. I tried to find information too when I wanted to apply for my Visitor Visa. Anyway, recently I received a Multiple Entry Visa Canada So, the basic requirement are all in the website: Application form, Family information and all that. Now, other document to submit depends on your purpose of visit. You need to prove to the VO that you will return after your visit. When I returned to the country after my first visit most of my friends thought I was stupid to have returned and I even met few people over there who told me what to do to remain in Canada. I'm glad I was smarter and returned even before my visa expired. Believe me, I will never advice anyone to overstay. Plan to return at least for sake of next application. That is why they really want to make sure you have strong reason to return. Items that will prove that you will return are: Strong tie to Nigeria, regular employment, fat account balance, assets, and previous travel history. I hope this will be helpful to you. I wish you success. 116 Likes 11 Shares |

Dextra: You're obviously well off. It's not easy to get a visa to enter canada from Nigeria. People were surprised you went back because they obviously weren't aware of your financial status. 11 Likes 1 Share |

maternal:LOL.....No be so I am intending staying after the exam and I had an offer from Canadian security company infact I had been interviewed but there is no way for me to work without the security licence the reason am applying for TRV.More info is highly welcome. |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by maternal: 8:51pm On Jan 23, 2015 |
presidentpikin: Lol. .. Ok now you're insulting my intelligence. To begin with to work you'll need a work visa to work in canada. They will not just give you a TRV especially if you tell them about this fictacious security company who has interviewed you through the phone in naija (no Canadian company does that). Secondly before a Canadian company hires someone abroad they must prove the profession is in high demand and nobody who's eligible to work in canada wants to do the job. A security job is not in high demand and there are many canadians ready to do it. If not with America next door why would they recruit all the way in naija ? To answer your question they will not give you a visa. Don't go to the Canadian embassy and insult yourself abeg. This is the only nonsense story you are able to come up with ? 49 Likes 3 Shares |

Jimmywest: Yes canada has a shortage of tradesmen like a Welder. You should apply as a skilled worker. If you get accepted go back to school and get your red seal. Red seal means you're qualified to work in canada, USA, or some places in Europe. Nobody acknowledges or respects nigerian qualifications here which makes sense. 21 Likes 10 Shares |
