Onwo onye na ebe mkpuru okwu nde a (ngwangwa na osiso) za? Ka o na ndi ive na asugba wo nabu? Ngwakata okwu emeele o na di nve ima nke wu nke. Does anyone know the regional origins of the words 'ngwangwa' and 'osiso' or are they both present in the same dialects? Cross-pollination has made it hard to tell which is which. |

I rokutara m hnwe l'agbala m nkuzo. I am more inclined to say that ngwangwa is likely southern, while osiiso is northern. My only reason for stating such is that (in my experience) groups in the southern regions seem to use ngwangwa more and sometimes use osiiso, while people that I know from northern regions seem to use osiiso more and one osooso that I've heard a few times. Doesn't mean that I've never heard anyone from northern regions using ngwangwa. I just don't associate ngwangwa with them. Like you said, the two have so cross-pollinated that it is difficult to know for sure. |

Thanks. I know that you might think that I am someone that likes to ask many questions, but don't be annoyed, let me ask one more: since you wrote "Wo laabu", does Ngwa say "wo" or "ha"? I have always thought that you guys say "ha". Eze Promoe: Me duo gba inhia n'ilu Isoma ma na keta ka me n'ohu threadi wa. Me du no repu PHC! AMMEKA! NWENE! Ochi yie. Have you ever seen "ha" whenever I write Ngwa? Lol. No o, "ha" is not okwu Ngwa, but "wo" is (at least in some communities). |

Eze Promoe: WE]Thought as much. So now, I'm curious about the syntax below (the bold). Promoe: Me no ome nkari nkari. Iwialawe! Nwere ge kwanu ya nu rumu we (no owuru nu ge lulam nwere) What is the function of "we" in "ya nu rumu we"? I ask because I'm interested in seeing if your use "we" in that context is the same as it would be in Ngwa. |

ChinenyeN: Interestingly I've noticed 4 different words for "them" in Ngwa. "we", "wo", "be", "hu". |

ChinenyeN: Ochi yie. Have you ever seen "ha" whenever I write Ngwa? Lol. No o, "ha" is not okwu Ngwa, but "wo" is (at least in some communities). O na ezi na avubeem gi ebe I suru "ha" kama o nwe aga Ngwa inyi a di. Ya mu Ngwa o wu digba icho icho. Amusalam ihe ovuru taa. It's true that I've never seen you write "ha" but this your Ngwa dialect is somehow lol: it has many variations. But nevertheless, I've learned something new today. Promoe: Aghosaziim ihe I dere kama o di m ka I si na I di nma, o kwaa? Lol. Ndaa aga Ikwere za asi "aga"? Oo "kpa" di ele nke nde Owere? Ihe m na ri wu na inyi anaa asuje "otu". I didn't really understand what you wrote but it seems like you said you're fine. Am I right? Lol. How does Ikwere say "how"? Is it "kpa" (like Owere people)? What I'm thinking is that you guys don't say "otu". |
