ChinenyeN:
Which communities did you hear "be" and "hu", if you can recall?

I heard "be" in Osisioma and "hu" in Owerrinta. I have interest in languages so I listen closely when people are speaking in dialects.

I've never heard "be" or "hu" before, but then again, I am from Obingwa and am mostly surrounded by Obingwa people. That aside, Ngwa ehila. So I cannot discount the possibility of distinct lexicon. What I do know is that "we" is the standard. It is what you will hear in a typical Ngwa setting. The other variant, "wo", has grown in popularity, but is really the lexicon of just a few scattered communities in Isiala Ngwa and Osisioma LGAs (so I've been told).

Do you remember the statements in which you heard "be" and "hu", while you were in Osisioma and Owerrinta, respectively? If so, could you please post them here?

In the Aro, Ihe and Ututu dialects, "tell me" is said as "kwuoro m" instead of "gwa m". Are there any other dialects that do the same?

Ya ghu maka ndu mbeanyi, 'tell me' ghu 'gwa m'. Depending on the context, 'shi m' could be used but not 'kwuoro m'. I ji ma atu: Mgbe ọ hụrụ m, ya shi m(told me).

Uzuakoli in Abia State says "kaaru m".

Ihedinobi:

Uzuakoli in Abia State says "kaaru m".

That's interesting. I take it that you're from there?

Another thing that I've noticed is that certain dialects don't say "na".

For example:

English - He told me that he did not see it.
Owere - O shi m shi o huu ya.
Ututu - O si m guma o vuu ya.
Central Igbo - O si m na o hughi ya.

My Igbo brothers, you're still here? More power to you. I find some of the dialects being written here a bit difficult to read, but I tend to try to read them. But accompanying each writing with some translating might make things a great deal easier. Nonetheless, I will make the effort to read and understand written here. Happy New Year! Greetings.
