mainman7: We the Yorubas demand an unalloyed and undiluted APOLOGY from the igbos now! Against the agreement, igbos spared their own corrupt politicians during the 1966 Coup. Again, against the agreement, igbos invaded Ore (Yoruba Land) during the war, what a terrible and evil-minded traitors igbos are! I can't believe some pple r this jobless! !! |

ChinenyeN: It seems Ikwerre people got this whne whne, they are always saying from Ngwa dialect (or is it a different word?) Lemme attempt a translation of the boldened: You people. should continue doing what you are doing? Oguta people would say: Unu meme ife unu ji n'eme. Does ndube by any chance = Ndi ibe? What of Ili? 1 Like |

Phut, I wouldn't necessarily say that Ikwerre got it from us, but yea. It's a prominent feature of both our lects, though we don't use it exactly the same in all instances probably due to sound shifts long ago. "Ndube" is "boredom" or a state of "listlessness". "Ili" is "thread". |
