Why is it that Nigerian men-in-uniform are so ill-disciplined? undecided

This case is as good as dead on arrival.

She can't identify the officers who committed the offence, so what does she expect the Navy to do?

This is not a case of gender but one of superiority and power show. Please this can happen to anyone and it does happen every year. Families lose bread-winners to issues like this. This nonsense must stop. The military must respect civilian privileges and rights, as such civilians will pay them the respect they are struggling to get. They should conduct themselves properly and behave like humans. Just over the weekend, I was plying the Eko bridge en-route to Victoria Island, there was traffic, only for me to notice a custom vehicle disturbing the peace with siren and swerving for vehicles to make way. I refused to budge because it is a criminal offense to use sirens in Lagos state (I think the Federal Government issued a gazette on that too). I closely observed the officer in the vehicle, arrogantly making a call and feeling cool with himself and the stupidity of his escort drivers. I shot them a devilish look, hissed and gave way not because I was scared but because the only thing they will tell me if they bash my car is sorry and I felt I should allow the mad fellows go.

It is a shame that NLers hijack sensitive post like this that should enlighten people on their rights or make them more knowledgeable and either twist it to a gender war, ethnic war or make fun out of it. To those of you who feel insensitive about this, I hope you tell the Policeman, or the Military man who oppresses you one day that Nigerian men are ill-discipline that is why he is oppressing you.

If you don't have any meaningful contribution to share, you better stay quiet and learn rather than spill your beans on public forums. Shame on you.

The naval officers are pure cowards, beating up an harmless old woman. This kind of irregularity only occur in some part of Africa but as eaten deep in Nigeria. This is a situation in which human right activists are expected to come in so as to put an end to this madness by our security operatives.

Something will be done. When the woman is fairly well, with the lady identified, an identification parade will be procured in that barracks and they will fish out the culprits and we will take it from there. THere had been similar cases in Lagos and justice was meted out in some of them that we were able to identify. Nigeria is not completely gone to the dogs yet, some things could and are being salvaged to the extent possible. It is a pity about the woman.

Nigerian military, navy, airforce etc.. Are only good fσr 2 things-

1. Drinkning their brains out at mami markets with 550naira a night prostitutes

2. Finding innocent people around ϯo ease dia homosexual rage on after being clogged up in dirty barracks fσr years

Thatz Ɣ i never respect anything in nigerian uniform of now.

The era †ђat MEN wore those Uniforms anϑ maintained their dignity r gone.

All hail Men- such as Murtala Muhammed, OBJ, Idiagbon, Gowon, TY danjuma, GMB etc

I'm not surprised at all at this. I think the Navy is raising a Naval Mafia at their Sapele base.
Earlier this year I buried a childhood friend of mine who was posted to Sapele. A young officer who had served his country in various parts of Africa and Nigeria. But on being transferred to Delta state he was killed just barely three months after. His body was found floating in the water five days after he was declared missing.
A Week before this incident happened he had been telling me how some of his colleagues were taking part in this illegal oil bunkering business and he had been trying to tell them to stop or get them exposed (He was one those stubborn incorruptible types).
It came as a surprise to me that those corrupt naval officers would go that far. The case is still under investigation but I presume it's just as dead and buried like the dead cos there was no evidence left behind.
Coming from a military background (my grand-dad, dad and some uncles and cousins serve in the military) my best advice to a civilian is to stay away from any scuffle involving a military man regardless of his rank or age. They are all deadly and to them you're just a bloody civilian without value. One reason I swore I'll never join the army (family tradition or not).

Did you read the content of the thread? Ki lon se e?

She never "fcukked" with the army.

Seriously, WTF is wrong with Nigerians? A grown woman got beaten by your useless army and you blamed her?

Are you sure you read the thread very well? The brutality was carried out by the navy but you keep refering to the army! Are you ok?
