Many ppl are are uninformed on this platform. They need not to go war with anybody. There is an article of self deterrmination and actulization with UN, that is what they are making use of.UN will not permit war. Many of you blame GEJ for a problem that has been there before GEJ.Gowon ceded Bakassi to cammeroon, OBJ gave out Bakassi , Yardua implemented it.Some fools are blaming GEJ now.

Hammed why are you talking as if you're a fool! Soo you still especting something good to come after more than 10yrs without a nation. Long live Bakassi Republic! Long Live Oduduwa Republic!! May God bless us!!!

This doesn't make sense. That's just expansionism. Southern Cameroons has more in common with much of the rest of Cameroon anyway and they couldn't get along with Nigerians when they were administered jointly with Nigeria by the British.

I now understood President Jonathan better now! We should not take his gentility for a fool. This man is wise in the sense dat he doesn't want to call for Sovereign National Conference for now but rather wants the situation to call for himself! Oduduwa Republic is on it's way! Pls watch out for the most vibrant, most educated, most wisest of all race of the nation! Long Live Oduduwa Republic, the Republic of the wise, wisdom, vibrant ppl!!!

How do you figure that? They were an English speaking territory, like Nigeria, and many of the ethnic groups in E. Nigeria spill over into the southern Cameroons territory. They also feel like they are being marginalized by the rest of the country and want to leave.

This is what a military is for, we should take it back by force.

1. Well the English thing is a foreign aspect of their country. One would certainly not claim that because people from Mozambique speak Portuguese they are more closely related to or similar to the Cape Verdeans that also speak Portuguese than to the other southern African peoples around them.

2. On the ethnic composition of Southern Cameroons, see this:

County Ethnic Groups:
Fako Bakweri, Mboko
Meme Bafaw, Bakundo, Balundu, Balong
Kupe Manenguba Bakossi, Mbo, Bassosi
Ndian Ngolo, Batanga, Ekondokondo
Lebialem Banwa, Nweh-Mundam, Wabane
Manyu Banyang, Kenyam, Ejagham, Boki, Ayang
Momo Widikum broken into the Metta, Menemo, Ngie, Ngwo, Menkas
Mezam Ngemba, Chamba
Menchum Aghem, Jebah,Mnen,
Boyo Kom, Bum
Ngoketunjia Tikar fractionalised into small different language groups.
Bui Nso, Oku, Noni
Donga – Mantung Wimbum, Mfumte, Yamba, Mbembe of Jukunoid

In summary the Grassland Region is peopled by the Tikar, Widekum Ngemba, Hausa and Fulani. While the rest are geographically located, the Hausa and Fulani, who are Moslems by religion, were the late comers into this region and are thus scattered all over.

3. On the issue of whether they could or could not get along with Nigerians during the colonial period, the answer is clearly a no from available evidence.

Foreign or not is is still important. English is the official language of Nigeria while french is in Cameroon. The official language allows ppl of different backgrounds to communicate with each other, so it is the most pertinent issue in this discussion. The people of Southern Cameroons can assimilate better into Nigerian schools & society than in their current country.

This is an ethnic map of Nigeria and West Cameroon. Note that the Southern Cameroons region is inhabited by the Anyang, Banyang and 'bangwa' groups which are all dialects of the same ethnic group. They can communicate with each other in either English or their native languages. In Addition to this we have the Ekoi, which are found in Nigeria aswell as Cameroon.

Pleep, the people of Southern Cameroons have and have had an ongoing secessionist movement that does not involve Nigerians in any way. Read up on the "Republic of Ambazonia."

On the Ekoi/Ejagham and the Boki of Nigeria being found in Southern Cameroons - well those are only two groups. I posted that link to show you that most groups of Southern Cameroons are distinct from those of Eastern Nigeria, but some of these groups or at least more closely related groups can be found in other parts of Cameroon or central Africa.

Cameroon/cameroonians never rejoice of the death of Africans..that's a big lie...by the way we have lost many soldiers in this area ....but we do not complain ...we were kind with everybody ..but how can u make a difference between a MED's member and a fisherman ...some fisherman fish in the day and kill in the night ..that's why now the control are strict in this area. if u don't accept to be controlled u don't enter in the fishy area .period. security before all ....your people created this situation when they start to work for the MED by telling them the numbers of soldiers their habits etc....

english cameroonians see themselves as West African; they identify more with us than with Central Africans.
Re: Bakassi Hoists National Flag, Sets Up Radio Station by Noiseless2: 10:04pm On Aug 11, 2012
I really think the best thing the Bakassians should do is to start going after all those who put them in this situation, people like yakubu gowon, obasonjo, danjuma, babangida, buhari and all those who in one way or the other played a part or supported the conspiracy to hand over the land to ahmadou ahidjo a fulani Cameroon president. The best way for them go about this issue now is by either start going after these nigerians who created the very painful situation instead of starting a fight against Cameroon, cos at the end of the day Cameroon is there as the price of their contribution for nigeria to win the un-civil war against Biafra. I don't understand why the fraudsters who created this painful situation should be enjoying life to the fullest without panic while the victims of their fraud remain with no dignity, it's unacceptable.

The Bakassians should start making the lives of yakubu gowon, danjuma, obasonjo, buhari, babangida and their co 419ners and leave the Cameroonians for now, because a war against Cameroon is a wrong fight as long as these nigerian wicked men are still enjoying the free air.
