Penrith is a nice suburb and not far from Inner west. Bros learn to drive ooh lol, thats a must to improve your prospects of securing a job in Sydney, 2k or thereabout should be able to get you a tokunbo ride. That was one of the main reasons Billionaire was able to get a job within weeks of arrival in Sydney - I haven't read his posts lately. Please, don't narrow your search to a particular field and you may need addtional training for few weeks to be able to secure some jobs and you may be lucky to get sponsored by an employer.

I have followed this thread for a while and have noticed how JennyK seems to rise above everyone else in terms of contributions and maturity. She uses facts to buttress her points while helping others selflessly. she is like an iron lady with a soft heart!! You've been a real blessing to me.

I am in the process of finalizing my PR - Subclass 189 (just waiting for the grant) and i must say that reading through her earliest posts helped me to believe that the whole process was worthwhile.

i will share more of my experiences in later posts.

lawland and Americanvisa thanks for the update, towards the email address of the Australian embassy in Pretoria that you gave to me few days ago, i had firstly send them email and they replied me the next day telling me to send my date of birth and passport number to them which i did and i have just received a new mail from them now, that's says

Dear Sir Your application is still under process, no final assessment has been made as yet.
We will contact if we require further information or alternatively when a final decision has been made on your case.

lawland and Americanvisa hope they will make final decision on my visa application quickly, cos the conference am going for in Australia is starting on the 12th of November 2013, that's why i had applied for the visa earlier , its now 25 working days, and they have not yet made final decision on my visa application, and i was inform at the VSf center in abuja that its normally takes 20 working days for business stream visa to be finalize or approve, please everybody in the forum please pray for me, so my visa can be approve quickly and i can meet up with the conference, cos i really need to attend this conference in Australia so i can use it in boosting my promotion in my working place, cos our MD in my working place had promised to promote me as soon as i arrive back from the conference...thats why i really need this conference, cos my partner in our working place had just arrive back from united state for conference and he will be receiving his promotion by next week, please i need your prayers, God bless.

i'm not sure i understand what NOC means!

IELTS came easy for me (did it only once)..I aimed for 8 in each band, but just missed out by 0.5, but 7 was enough for me to get the required points.

i bought the IELTS practice material but never had a need for it as i practically did all my studies on Youtube. i used YTD video downloader to download a lot of the videos and watched them over and over. i also did a lot of free online tests and checked tips from some of the experts to identify my mistakes and correct them.

What i believe is that if you want something really bad, you will go all out for it and you will get it!!! I've seen your posts and I believe you will definitely succeed!!!

Yeah, NOC means Nominating occupation. I am qualifying via Systems Analyst...British Council aren't agreeing. I need 7.0 all bands but always land at 6.5! If I get 6.0 all bands at my next attempt even though I aim at 8.0, I will look for a state or region to nominate me.

Meanwhile am still hoping to get in via student visa.

Okay.I'm even waiting on my B.Sc documents before I get ACS rolling on me. If I get a positive evaluation, I will then redo IETLS and unsuspend my skillselect account. Thank you.

There are many 9ja doctors here, I have met more than five in just three weeks. Google Medical Board of Australia for details, I was told you have to pass the first stage of their medical exams, after that you have to look for an employer that will offer you a job and sponsor you for visa application.

I thought they are covered under skillselect like Nurses but they have to register as doctors and do other skill evaluation.
