jennykadry: My one advise to you is to ......ask them how much they require for the 2 tears instead of assuming.
ok, that wont be a problem. as soon as i do, i'll let you know. now to my previous question, even if i eventually did apply for a student visa for a 12 month course in OZ can i change to partner visa if i apply before finishing my studies? and again hope they do not give NO FURTHER STAY CONDITION on 12months diploma courses? thanks.
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 12:16pm On Jun 05, 2013
That question I cannot answer, I suggest you pay another visit to the consular.

What I think is, it's sound tricky for you to wanna enter The country as a student with your wife who is a citizen......but i don't know what the immigration will think.
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 12:24pm On Jun 05, 2013
hmm, ''asiri''. i will visit them once more.

@Jenny,Redreact,Australian boy and e.t.c.I need ur advise and it has to do wit my sponsor who happen to be a family friend. He said he cant release his statement of account for me so that i wont know what he has in his account and dis prompted him to suggests if he can send it directly to d embassy with other document instead of handing dem over to me.Whats ur take in dat regard?
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 9:19am On Jun 06, 2013
Yea, fill your forms and get all your necessary documents ready and take it to his house. You guys go to VFs together and let him hand it in.

You just need to move schedules around, no biggie

@Sakabien, why the refusal in handling the statement to you? You are the applicant now and it's you that should present the statement to them not him.
I haven't heard of this before o.
@Jenny, yeah you're right. That's another option. But the thing is that he agreed to sponsorship, and now he doesn't want to give him the statement. What does that signify?
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 9:24am On Jun 06, 2013
He is willing to send the document to the embassy just not willing to hand it over to sakabien. Maybe for privacy reasons. As long as he is still happy to be a sponsor, sakabien should just go with it and play by his rules.
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by surecan: 12:07pm On Jun 06, 2013
how can he know if the man meet the financial requirement
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 1:56pm On Jun 06, 2013
He has two Options to choose from:

1. believe his uncle
2.cancel his trip to Australia

Even I wouldn't disclose mine and hubby's income or bank statements to any relative except hubby. There are ways to help people without them seeing the figures and that's what the uncle is doing.

@jeny thanks for all your inputs here.Diploma in information technology and Diploma in community service work, which one holds more prospects for me in Western Australia?Although I have a degree in Political Science, I am more inclined to Information technology,I even run a cyber cafe down here. And do you have any idea if the work placement in Diploma in community service is a paid one? which one can give me more time to work over there? Thanks.
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by RedReact: 3:22pm On Jun 06, 2013
^^^
Go for diploma in community service. The IT is a crowded sector in Australia and the Asians full that sector more than anything else.

I am mobile now but it's about time someone posts the skilled occupation list here for people looking to stay here permanently after studies to go through. The below link will show you's a lot of what Australia is looking for, but bear in mind that some take priorities over others. Like @red react said IT could be on that list on demand but truth be told, there are a lot of IT students and professionals here that others trying to come in might not stand a chance. The fact that your preferred Occupation could be on the list does not mean they will retain you after studies in area of sponsorship.....except ofcourse you study for 2 years and apply for your PR after your graduate visa.

Hello house! After rejection of application from 3schools in Aussie I av now been given admission into my 4th school choice. The course I applied for is Master in Information Technology and it is one year duration. Plz can I stay back to work after my Msc in aussie or how do I stay back to work after my Msc....I av also been given admission into Uk for Msc! But Uk rules are not friendly for international students dats why I prefer heading to Aussie! Plz house I need ur advice on this on can I stay back there in Aussie after my Msc or how do I stay back to work dere in Aussie after the one year Msc
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 12:35pm On Jun 07, 2013
First off congratulations on your admission.

Your only option is to have a company willing to sponsor you for your permanent residence or continue studying for another one year to make it up to 2 years. Else you might have to return back to Nigeria after studies. To be quite honest, lots of people are already in he IT business, some are changing to mining cos IT sector is full.

Let me say this to everyone, YOU DON'T STAND A CHANCE AT PR WITH JUST ONE YEAR STUDY. YOU STAND A CHANCE AT SPONSORSHIP IF THEY CANNOT GET SOMEONE WITH A PERMIT TO FILL THE POSITION. THAT'S WHY FOR EXAMPLE THEY WON'T LET NURSES GO BACK, COS THEY (AUSTRALIA) DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH AUSTRALIAN NURSES TO FILL THE THOUSANDS OF POSITIONS VACANT.

THAT'S WHY I SAID, THOUGH SOME OCCUPATIONS ARE ON THAT LIST, SOME TAKE TOP PRIORITIES. THOSE THAT TAKE TOP PRIORITIES ARE THOSE THEY CANNOT GET WORKERS FROM WITHIN.

SAY FOR EXAMPLE I AM A SPECIALIST DOCTOR WITH 9 YEARS EXPERIENCE AND APPLYING FOR A JOB, AND ON THE OTHER SIDE IS ANOTHER SPECIALIST DOCTOR WITH 16 YEARS EXPERIENCE APPLYING FOR THAT SAME JOB. EVEN THOUGH HE IS WHAT THEY WANT WITH HIS MANY YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE, THEY WILL CHOOSE ME, THE CITIZEN WHO THEY DO NOT HAVE TO STRESS ABOUT FINDING THE REQUIRED VISA FOR.

....,.,,,.though I have never seen a case where a fresh doctor even without experience was sent back home here . They are on demand

Mehn...i think ive got to have a rethink o, same as iamcapela suggested about the asian tigers for us going for IT related courses.
AuntyJ, Community service isnt found on the list, or is it in same category as Social worker?
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Kingzy4pep(m): 5:29am On Jun 08, 2013

You can't go from a higher grade or class to lower now; it has to be the other way round.
I suggest you look for a school with a 2 yrs program since it's an IT based program, or go for a college Advanced Diploma of 2 years.

Amen brother. Just try and look around for the schools and check for programs that will be of 2 years.
Earlier on, Jenny told us that she knew of an IT guy that did MSc in IT and he studied for a year. She said the guy looked for sponsorship but couldn't, so he had to come back home or something like that. I know how those Asians can behave. They also domain in USA and Canada too like that.
