None of you arguing and shouting has come up with any rational reason or argument against the proposal - its just all sentiments.

It will cause inflation - how, none of you can explain.

The man said you are wasting your time by attacking him, and yet - you are just doing exactly that - wasting your time.

Do you want to know the true reason behind the N5,000 policy?. The reason is;
In 2-3 years everything in Nigeria would be priced in Millions or Billions. For example; a bottle of Fanata will sell like N1,000,000.

The policy is to make it easier to carry ''any'' amount in your pocket.

Sanusi is a stunch supporter of BH and have to fight with the only tool at his disposal.... Get it?.

Yeah! You have a point there. And I was about saying the same thing.

Let me just add that later in life, posterity will judge him.

Quiet frankly, I don't have issues with the N5000 thing but the redinomination of some currencies to coins. That's where I see some infractions. We all have the experience with N1 and K50. That's my fear.

were you for or against the re-domination of the currency by Soludo? what do you think would have happened to the lower dominations

Why is this man's forehead so wrinkly? He's only 51.

Every time I come across a picture of his overly wrinkled forehead I cringe a little.
according to what I studied in geography,it is called contours.what do you expect from a skinny man who refused to grow fat?
If he thinks nigerians are wasting their time, then let him go ahead. Bloody cattle rearer!

What is he saying? . . .Is he for or against the well-being of Nigerians? Talking about one step forward, ten steps backward ... What will the economy be like ten years from now with this denomination? Replace the 5,000 naira denomination with a one million naira denomination. It will do the best job of strengthening the naira.

If the CBN thinks introducing the N5000 note without a corresponding increase on investment in the real sector to boost productivity, then I am afraid one day N20,000 note will be introduce.

the CBN is just one piece of the jigsaw, expecting the CBN to do everything from prosecuting 'cabals' and investing in the real sector is too much

GEJ and his ministers should pull their fingers out

The only problem I have with the 5,000 naira note will be the increase rate of Bank robbery...
Aside that, I think the policy is okay......

being the financial regulatory body, I expect CBN to be the mastermind on economic development in Nigeria.

ekt_bear: Suppose instead of introducing an N5000 note, he redenominates the currency, removing two zeros.

So you exchange N100 for a "new naira."

Would anyone be opposed to the latter?

So how can the latter be OK but introducing an N5k note be insane?

Are they not effectively the same thing?
cant you see that both scenarios are opposites?whhy didnt ghana just keep introducing larger denominations?why did it go through the hassle of redenomination and expend a huge sum on the process?

I have my issues with Sanusi but if someone is nominated for a job and screened by our Senate and found worthy of such office, we should be gracious enough to let them DO THE JOB. The law has empowered this guy, by virtue of his office to take decisions that will advance the country economically and what he is doing is within the limit of his powers, so lets not do his job for him...let him do the job we put him there to do!!! This place is not a jungle.

When GEJ announced τ̲̣̣̥н̣̣̣̝̇̇̇ε̲̣̣̣̥ increase of petro price/litre I believe Ɣ☺Ʊ didn't tell Nigerians Ť☺ allow him do his job? undecided
