There is a difference between nationality and ethnicity. Not every Somali you see is from Somalia, just like every Fulani you see about isn't from Nigeria. Ogaden was never a part of the Somali Republic. Mohamed Siad Barre had a vision to unite all the Somali lands in Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, British Somaliland and Italian Somaliland under one flag. That is why we went to war with Ethiopia and we did actually manage to defeat one of Africa's largest armies in 1977-78 but that was before they cried for help from their Soviet allies.
