shymexx:

I didn't say he backed Achebe, I was just putting his words in the context in which he made them... The genocide is debatable, however, he asserted that it was before the war(pogroms) - that was my point...

I've read tons of articles written by Wole Soyinka - and I know there's no love lost between him and the Northerners(and their way of life/religion)...

Btw, I'm Yoruba..

i know u re a Yoruba......

thanks for clearing me......Odua a gbe wa oo,Ashe !!!!

Eze Promoe: Soyinka is very different westerner i've found. At times i wonder if he's truly from there. Unlike many Yorubas, he isn't a tribalistic bigot.

The whole world Agreed there was Genocide durin Biafra war............

Achebe said AWOLOWO was the brain Behind ''starvation policy''
Show me where Prof. Wole Soyinka said Awolowo anchored the Genocide or was the brain behind ''StARVATION POLICY''?
From this article with fake link!!!

Achebe underestimated Gowon and even didn't mention Ojukwu's role in all this, he thinks without Awolowo in d federal cabinet, Ojukwu would ve won the War.......

The more u think and show other ethnic as being dumb the more they outsmart U........u will alwaz play the victim and keep whinnin and wincing until that day that Biafra shall be ACTUALISED!!!! Then u may wanna fightback........while other tribe will also be fully ready....

Trust, ''Odua Lords''.........the GENERALs of OYO EMPIRE are never DEAD,The EKITIs Warlords,The EGBAs(OLUMO),IJEBUs....... grin grin grin

Prof. Should relax and stop inciting violence from USA.......he will never be here when Another yawa go Gas neither his family!!!!

When World class intellectuals like Achebe and Soyinka speak, intellectual midgets should shot their mouths, and at least learn something new.

Who ressurected this thread again now. Haba! Everybody knows Soyinka is a different Yoruba man, just like Gani, and Fela. Sometimes I wonder whether their mothers did away match with other ethnic men. Not bigoted at all. He has my respect anyday.
