Omen100: The gospel truth is that, we southerners are not truthful to ourselves, we always blame the north for our own failures, even when the north have nothing to do with our present day misdeeds. We should hold our leaders accountable for all their actions, imagine a total of $100b has being paid between the last 12years to the niger-delta states & there is nothing to show for it, its only God that will punish any of us southerners that will point accusing fingers up north.

It takes a man to admit his mistakes.

Kudos Sir! wink

Why don't you just acknowledge the fact that they are doing well and forget the sentiments.

I am from the South-South and the truth remains that the Northerners are more committed to development than we are. The so called cattle herders and Almajiris have benefited from the judicious use of resources by their leaders.

Load of nonsense. Or a case of the grass is alwyas greener on the other side. Tell me something. Have you been to Uyo, Akwa Ibom lately? Ok, what about Calabar? Port-Harcourt?

How the hell is SOKOTO more developed than any of these places I've mnetioned - all located in the south-south?

Do you know the literacy rate of the south south compared to Sokoto?

In fact some of you have serious issues on this forum.

Sir,

Do not take it personal but be factual. Yes, i have been to the three places you mentioned and have seen the level of development therein. I am indeed disappointed that Port Harcourt is in your list of developed cities. Take a trip there and go through roads like Trans-Amadi, East-West road,The collapsed Eliozu bridge, Eneka to name a few places and see the level of decay on these roads. Uyo and Calabar, ok. I reserve my comment on what our leaders ought to do; considering the huge sum of money allocated to these state annually.

We are entitled to our personal opinion but that can never change the fact that we need more sincere people in Government. I will still appraise the Northern Governors higher compared to their Southern counterparts.
Thank you sir.

Stating the lopsided realities of the FORCED union called Nigeria does not mean giving the southern RULERS a free pass. If you are not a newbie to NL you should know that the they get more than their fair share of criticism, constructive and otherwise. GEJ, Tinubu, Akala, Fashola, Gbenga Daniel, Rochas, Orji etc are not northern rulers, the last time I checked!
Taking Niger Delta oil money to Abuja for sharing when no one shared the proceeds of groundnuts and cotton in the 50s and 60s from the north is HYPOCRISY and cannot go on forever.
You can also not ban alcohol consumption in the name of HYPOCRITICAL sharia but have no qualms collecting and spending the VAT money on the same HARAM things from the PROSPEROUS southern states.
Without these revenue sources, northern Nigeria will be so impoverished like their cousins in Niger, Chad, Mali etc.

BTW, how many of the roads and buildings were constructed and MAINTAINED by northerners since most of them are content with being almajiris rather than going to school
