Hey fellas, am settling into school in Edmonton.

Was gisting with some Naija folks here today. I learnt there are saddist lecturers (like we have in Naija), whose courses are usually avoided for ones considered as quick 'easy' grades. Wow!! If that is true, the it's Undergrad all over again, isn't it ?!! , lol
Re: Travelling To Canada by lanreade(m): 8:26am On Aug 31, 2010
Who is the agent?Maple doesn't advise that.

lanreade:

@lanreade & @All, My school refer me to an Agent in Nigeria, I asked the International Admission Coordinator the following question after she referred me to the agent.

Does this Agent work directly with the school?

Do you usually refer your student to them ?

Have they helped a few numbers of your student to secure a Visa to Canada?

She responded to my questions the next day saying " They represent a consortium of Canadian Universities and the University of Guelph at Department of Foreign Affairs events. Please feel confident in their assistance "

I sent the International Admission Coordinator an e-Mail telling her what the agent said and she advised me to pay directly to the School not to any agent or third party. So Please i need advise on what to do. I wanted to go to MAPLE but i left this Agent will be reliable since the school recommended them to me.

Please what do you think.

Please Advise.

Yea, I saw it. You actually posted it about five times repeatedly. What I did was simply print preview the forum pages and there it was, Your almighty list. everybody just have to see it. It is the bomb!

So you paid your school fees and Accomodation fee and have only 1.5M balance in your sponsor account, I think paying is just the secret!

@ Liss it is very possible that he can get a visa without anyone inviting him. He just needs to show he has enough money for his stay nd I think they need to see prove to hotel too. He can get all these info at the Canadian Citizenship nd Immigration website.

I visited Montreal over the weekend and I wasn't surprised that it is a beautiful city. Things r lots cheaper nd lesser tax.

Re: Travelling To Canada by Hotstepper(f): 12:55pm On Sep 08, 2010
@ohio2010, I presume you are referring to Semester 1 nd Semester 2 which is commonly referred to as Fall and Winter Semesters. The former runs from Sept. to December and the latter from Jan. to April. Therefore, most schools admit students for the Winter Semester. By next week, admission application for the Winter (for the schools that offer it) and Fall 2011 will start.

@charlie193 Congrats. You can always google about the school and city. The city and school are nice just like any other Canadian University.
I do not know about job prospect in the 2 cities but for Montreal, cuz it is a bilingual city which is like 80 percent french, getting a job without speaking french is gonna be a hard one cuz u need to be bilingual. If you ask me, take Uni. of Manitoba

@charlie193;
I am in Edmonton now. The people have been welcoming. Weather is gettin chilly gradually.
First week was full of hustling for accommodation (off-campus), but the web resources available for everything is awesome. In fact, you could start reading about everything you need to do here right there in Nigeria. It's just as it was stated for us in the Int'l student handbooks. Academics is in progress now; and my mind is open to the new world for the next few months of my life.
