@serekemi..........very difficult to say, because it is not an official thing,although,it is illegal,but, it has become the norm in Dubai, again, it is hard to identify a fake recruitment agency/Hr official because it is not written on their forehead, my suggestion to you is if you have God fearing family members or friends in Dubai, they can assist you in knowing who to recommend to you, we have both FAKE and GENUINE recruitment agencies/Hr and they are mainly controlled by Indians...........and have you also noticed that all the jobs we have posted here on this forum, none of our members has come up to testify that they secured jobs or where interviewed, the reason been the under written code or what l call under the table settlement going on,even in the so called walk-ins interviews, if they have 20 vacancies, 15 of the slots will be teleguided and they will have a point man within the premises or in one of the rooms, and pre-selected candidates who have cash to give are given instant offer letters and in some cases they are also given employment visa within days, and the remaining 5 will be employed and are given house-keeping positions or other low cadre positions, and they will now tell the government that they did an open interview......***ALL IS COSMETIC SHOW** l am saying this from what l have seen happens to several guys and my relationships with several colleagues especially indians......

Anyways just wonna ask if some companies in qatar shut down during the ramadan and also is there salah holiday and when would they Be resuming?

Companies opened during the fasting period but some with adjusted working hours. The law allows a maximum of 8 working hours during the fasting. They've shut down for the holidays already which started earlier today. Work resumes on Sunday.

To be honest I can only afford extra $1200 after paying for my flight ticket which I learned from Emirates airline will be around $1000 because it is high season now. Do you advise I still go ahead with traveling to dubai with the just extra $1200 because I am doing this alone or otherwise?.

i did my medicals around the 15th day of July and we were given our residence card within 2weeks.
the only problem is that, instead of 3 years residence, I was given just 1year.
i took my card back to the management and they discovered that it was a mistake.
They took it back for rectification sha.
Too much discrimination going on.......

@valentony.........wow!!...sorry about that,l think they will correct it, as regard discrimination, it is everywhere and all over the world, but, learn to close your eyes to it, do your job in a professional way, carve a niche for yourself,stand out among other employees, l faced it too,although,not in Dubai, during my studies and work abroad,but, l stood my ground, didn't allow it to deter me ,rather it spur me to work harder, with all humility l say all this,it came to a point l became a reference point for my entire organisation and so many drastic positive policies where introduced because of me, so l will encourage you never to be discouraged,respect all and work harder,with time, your management team will identify you and the sky will be your stepping stone.....enjoy your holiday!!
