Senate was only acting on the allegation of the indicted police pension officials that maina's committee spent recklessly in the course of carrying out its investigation. E.g N1billion was allegedly spent by the committee to capture biometric data of pensioners living outside the country. Last year when Maina appeared before the senate to defend his committee, it was a shouting march reminiscent of Sanusi -senate face off. After that, he refused to honor their invitation hence the current saga.
