One of the holy commandments of the Lord, thine God is to "keep holy the sabbath day". Is this a minor commandment or a major commandment? Or in fact, is the concept of minor/major commandments flawed? Is the sabbath commandment on the same level the commandment not to kill.  Which of the ten commandments have been abrogated by God and which not.

The sabbath commandment has got really serious consequences for anyone who falls foul of it, not least at the cost of flouting one of the other commandments. Let's look at Numbers 15: 32-36;


32 While the Israelites were in the desert, a man was found gathering wood on the Sabbath day. 33 Those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses and Aaron and the whole assembly, 34 and they kept him in custody, because it was not clear what should be done to him. 35 Then the LORD said to Moses, "The man must die. The whole assembly must stone him outside the camp." 36 So the assembly took him outside the camp and stoned him to death, as the LORD commanded Moses.


If this commandments has got such serious consequences might it not be wise if we knew exactly when the sabbath is, in case we break it. Is it a Saturday or Sunday?  And why is it that the society is not by and large observing this little of god's laws. In fact, it is being flouted with impunity in most of the civilised world.

Did the all the people who lost their lives on account of being stoned for breaking the Sabbath die for nothing? Jesus comes along and changed the law, rendering their punishment for the crime void? Think of all the other people who in similar manner. Could they have wished Jesus had arrived earlier? When did Jesus realise that this punishment was barbaric?

I suggest you read the NT very very well. You can do it, you are a scientist.

The sabbath question should not be argued because after creating everthing on the sixth day on earth,
God created the SABBATHDAY on the seventh day, and it is only on this day (the seventhday) GOD himself 
BLESSED, SANCTIFIED SET APART as an holy day.Gen2:2-3
    Again the SABBATH was instituted on creation week,before sin entered the world apart from marriage
in the book of lev 23:3 God himself told moses that the (seventh day sabbath) is for holy assembly,convocation, gathering
because that day was blessed and sanctified for that purpose only, from any other day of the week

In the entire bible there are four (4) sets of laws, which have to be identify before concluding
which of them jesus christ settled over 2000 years ago.
we have as follows;
THE TEN COMMANDMENTS
THE THEOCRATIC LAW
THE HEALT LAW
THE CEREMONIAL LAW
Of all the above mentioned laws,only the ceremonial law was abolished by the death of jesus christ
because it came as a result of sin 1 John 3'4, and these law as to do with sheding of blood and other
sacrifices.
