torkaka: For a senator to bring himself so low to play to the gallery is a shame. Frankly, I'm beginning to question the educational level of most leaders from the south south starting with GEJ to Enang via Oduah

Are you just realising? It has long been acertained and proven that most south south people are dull and myopic 'starting with their grandpagrandmumu Edwin Clark, GEJ and the cocroaches in this forum.

CHESSBOARD: Nairalanders are actually Illiterates, what this ediot published is OPL, meaning Oil prospective Licenses Not OML : Oil mining lease, meaning oil have not been discover in most of these blocks( OPLs).... we want to know who own the OMLs
Re: Owners Of Oil Wells In Nigeria Unveiled By Segun Adeniyi by talk2s(m): 9:23am On Mar 14, 2013
WAY FORWARD cum SOLUTION:
A State of Emergency should be declared on that sector;
The oil wells should be retrieved from all thier present Care-Takers;
They should be re-allocated in an order and manner that will correct the prevailing imbalance, but this time not to individuals but to Local Govt. Areas as licensed owners;
Therefore, about 40% should be shared to LGAs in the South South;
20% to South East LGAs;
15% to South West LGAs;
10% to Noth Central LGAs;
10% to North West LGAs;
5% to North East LGAs.

LGAs will now be the custodians of the Oil Wells and do what ever they want with it for the development of thier areas. They can sublet it to any Oil Company and collect commisions.
We are told that present oil well owners make millions of dolls on daily basis!
My country men and women, is that not relatively enough for our communities to develop in a shortwhile?
Even if it does not go round one per LGA, but at least 1 oil well for two or 3 LGA.
I rest my submission.

Any analysis of the ownership of OMLs or OPLs will end up as depicted below, if done by the usual suspects. The only thing certain is that the Senator Enang's 80% claim is bogus smiley

Re: Owners Of Oil Wells In Nigeria Unveiled By Segun Adeniyi by Nobody: 9:30am On Mar 14, 2013
I am most pained by these revelations! You can now see the ideological mindset of backers of MEND. We lost farmlands, portable water and clean air. We lost these basic natural endowments yet you cant pinpoint A Niger-Deltan in the sea of names. Yet, we love Nigeria! We remain patriotic. If it was the North or West that Oil was explored, there would have been no Nigeria. I love you all but know that some day, Niger Delta will not be comfortable to aliens if these wrongs are not righted.

Telling the truth is not hating in fact not telling the truth is the real hate. the Honorable senator was conveying the true sentiment of his oppressed constituency of SS at the senate floor on the continued marginalization of his people by those other regions who feel that Nigeria belongs to them to do as they please including resources of the nation.
How is clamoring for HCF a bad thing? Have you guys ever been to the real oil producing communities of the SS? you honestly believe they dont' deserve better? why should any justice loving Nigerian/senator be against the HCF?
The reason for the 83% northern ownership came up as a result of northern senators opposition to the HCF. And you guys should not forget that!!
For equitable Nigerians like me, The opposition to HCF is the real hatred not clamoring for whats rightfully yours, lets not forget that if the majority of oil belonged to either the North,SW or any other region besides the SS. there would not be a all these talks,debates or negotiations, they would have had absolute control of their regional resources.And history proves these, case in point the hay days of Nigerian dependence on agric.

My brother, surprised you accorded so much respect previously. Be cautious about all Nigerians because in life big money rides on the back of either a big idea or a big opportunity. One creates the other stagnates. Its easy to see why the wealth gap wides daily and the trickle down effect is absent.

Our distinguished senator LIED, trying to throw the country into confusion and cause a brother to draw his dagger against a fellow brother. What a shame that such people are being voted into high office.

EzeUche:

Oil wells are located in Abia, Imo and Anambra state. All of these are core Igbo areas.

Now why should we give up our oil wells?

And how come so many from the South West and Northerners are involved in the oil industry when not a drop of oil is located in those regions?

I dare you to disprove his assertion b/4 casting aspersion on the honorable senator.
what % does the north own?
Re: Owners Of Oil Wells In Nigeria Unveiled By Segun Adeniyi by Standing5(m): 10:21am On Mar 14, 2013
It is one thing for northerners to control 83% of Nigeria's oil and another for 83% of those who control Nigeria's oil block to be northerners - Magnitude and Direction are being confused here.
The final and most significant revelation i would what to see is the list involving the shareholders of oil block and the volume of proven reserve for the oil block, even at this, there can still be manipulation where the some people will control a block during its more productive years and then do away with it when they are ready to move out to the next big block.

la furia: i can clearly see 83 percent northerners as shareholders/owners.
I agree, i purposefully counted all the northern names I saw on that list and I agree with u. Pls correct me if am wrong but I don't see anyones name from Niger Delta, benin, warri, imo, calabar, rivers etc. If so, how can they tell us ownership of oil wells is not ethnic coloured.
