...I don't think u can apply for the work permit at the point of entry as wat they have for u is to issue u a permit based on the visa u carry....u may however ask them about it...or if u are scared or worried...when u land...u can call them and u will be advised...

Meyson: Big shoutout to everybody here....you guys are doin a great job. I just joined nairaland because of this topic. I got an UG admission to the University of Regina and I am gonna start working on my study permit for the winter resumption date. Loads of imformation here abd inspiration too. Thanks a lot guys! hello house,
just wanna say hi to all the members of the house. I submitted my application at VAC on May 2nd and still awaitinf medical call. i am so happy for the online dudes ( 2-chains and co) who have received their medical call . I also wanna express my profound appreciation for the fathers in the house DOn Siga, Earthgreeners, Onye Oma, GboyegaD, Sampitts and the others whom without their experience and words of advise , this forum would lack its depth and meaning. I hail Una oh!!!!! I prophesy success to everyone in their study/otherwise endeavors. we shall all get there by the special grace of God. KEEP THE FAITH.!!!

I still dey follow the forum on low key. I happen to only have time to go through the thread at night. During my application process i virtually put my life on pause because of the stress in compiling all the documents.

I implore on all of us who are heading to canny and all others already there to be of recommendable character and set good examples for those who are to come in other for the Canadian government to see us in a different light. This whole process is too difficult because of the bad name the corrupt and shameless Nigerians have brought on the rest of us.

Please lets try to turn this impression around. OneLove to the house. Would inform you and hopefully be able to contribute more authoritatively when i receive my medical call ( hopefully within the coming week).

I think one of the challenges you are facing is your mindset and perhaps, you are not doing some things rightly. Package your application well and I can assure you that one of those 4 would at least consider you. Nonetheless, you could also apply to some other schools.

My dad is CEO and sponsor.
Submitted all tax clearance stuff cert of incorp and list of directors
International biz mgt seneca college
Can't remember d acc balance. Used three accounts sha. All to d company. One dollar and two naira accounts.

I am in the process of submitting my documents to CDHC for winter 2014, but I am having some concern about proof of funding. I intend sponsoring myself as I have been working now for about 4 yrs, I have a loan from my bank of N2m although it is not stated as education/ student loan, just personal loan. I also have N2m as my personal savings in fixed deposit. The total cost of tuition for one yr is $6763.65(M.Sc. statistics, thesis) in U of Regina.I also intend travelling with my wife for the period. My question now is, do I still need a sponsor or am I good to go on funding aspect? All advise sincerely appreciated.

Nope it duznt affect it. For you to be issued a visa, you should have 6months left on the validity of your passport. If it shud expire during your study, 3months before the expiration date, you should apply for a new passport at the nigeria consulate letting them know you still have a valid visa in ur old passport and you would be handed a new one in no time.

From the lil I learnt in here,you have to go to Immigrations office in Abj and notify them,and they'll direct you on how to go about it. Though it'll cost you some cool cash.

I advise you do it now cos even if you submit ur passport like that, and happen to be considered (which by God's grace you'll),you'll be asked to go and extend ur passport cos they can NEVER issue you a 2-year multiple entry on a visa that will expire in less than 6 months.
So,take on the stress once and for all.
