kim k's girl: Ok, good! There are quite number of schools in TX. If you are looking at Spring '14 (Starting Jan.) pls start applying now. Do not wait! Have you even written SAT/TOEFL/GRE ? Well, you still have time, if you are looking at Fall '14 (starting Aug.).. Apply early, it is first come, first served. Goodluck! |

Amefrica:I think i'll do fall 2014 because I might need my transcript from my present school here in Nigeria and we are yet to even write 2nd semester exams because of this whole strike thingy, no I haven't taken any exams yet at all, and I have done a little research about university of houston and I think I like the school, it's good for Law. |

Amefrica: shey your school dey give waiver for fresh international students and scholarship for international students? |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part4 by RickyRozay: 11:57am On Oct 09, 2013 |
Amefrica: No ooo. Remove my school from the list ooo. Lol. My school deadline for spring 2014 has been closed since 1st of September... Most schools will close their Deadlines for International Students going for spring semester by October/November to allow em enough time to process their Visa... @Kim K's girl will be good for FALL 2014.. So you can have ample of time to meet lots of admission and scholarship deadlines..... |

Amefrica:I always love to do everything by myself not until I got a uk refusal, it's not like I can't do it myself but I never nursed the idea of schooling in America until this strike and my mum is the sponsor, she came up with the idea and got the agent |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part4 by Walspring: 12:45pm On Oct 09, 2013 |
kim k's girl: i advise u not to use agent and dont think u cant get this ur visa urself cos am sure u can since most people here got their visa with patronising agent and since ur mum will sponspor you, i wish u can try and convince her so that she wont tink that using agent will make u get the visa try show her this thread to follow just pls tell ur mum not to waste the money on agent cos what u will tell d school is what agent will tell d school for them to issue I-20 for u and mind u agent wont go to US embassy wit u cos u will be on ur own dat day. US embassy made decision the same day u go for ur interview and not like UK where u will submit ur applications and documents then after 2week u know ur fate. All u need is in this thread cos u will be the one to answers questions from VO and not agent and its what u learn here is what agent will tell u and what VO will ask cos most question are the same and u need to be bold, smart and vibrant. I have friend in abuja who patronise agent and up till now agent still telling him stories but i did the processing myself and i only spent 10% of what my friend paid to agent in abuja for his Msc, i have my I-20 with me here on my bed and am still going to receive another I-20 before friday. I advise u to focus, believe in urself and read this thread from part 1 to this current part 4, u will see that VO as similar quetions, also pray for God's favour which i personally pray for everyday because no agent get supernatural power and nah God get am. This thread is free of charge but agent is not free and even on this same thread there are some agents who visit to read and learn so that they can use it to lecture their customer for them to face VO and get US visa.. |

Walspring:thank you, I know i'm going to be on my own at the embassy and at least to an extent I know how it works, i'll be using the agent for the exams and to get me a school and i'll do the remaining by myself. |

@kim k's girl: since you've made up ur mind, no pee. Wishing you success. I read in one of ur posts that u wanna study Law. Do you wanna practise American law in 9ja Your best bet is to study political science or int'l relations and do ur masters/phd in law.. |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part4 by Nobody: 2:00pm On Oct 09, 2013 |
Amefrica: @kim k's girl: since you've made up ur mind, no pee. Wishing you success.how it works in naija is that if u study Law outside you do 18 months Law school here to be eligible to practice here |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part4 by Nobody: 2:13pm On Oct 09, 2013 |
kim k's girl: Sorry, i meant after studying pol sci or int'l rel you should go to law school after graduation. By the time u finish ur gonna be a hot cake. |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part4 by obotubong: 2:32pm On Oct 09, 2013 |
kim k's girl: if the VO ask you why are you going to studying american law when it can not be applied in nigeria, what is gonna be ur ans? and as your ans he/she cuts in and ask except you have no intention of practising in nigeria, while looking straight in your eyes, what is gonna be your response? why i am saying this is cos those VOs are looking for a reason in there head not to issue you a visa being your have no intention coming back after studies. in such situation, i guess your other document i.e GMAT, GRE, who is ur sponsor would determine alot. just my view, for you to think about. |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part4 by Walspring: 2:49pm On Oct 09, 2013 |
kim k's girl: get yourself a school of your choice by going to usnews. com and dont use an agent to get yourself school what of if school agent get for u is not ur choice or u dont like the life style when u get there? Well agent will want to get u a school dat is cheap and i pray he wont get u CC school. I advise u to search for school urself. As for the exam well i understoond why which might be ur ability sha but just be wise and as our justwise here who does not like ppl mentioning agents names here. Lastly people here can get u list and names of school for free if you need help on that, all u need to do is to ask what u want. |

Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part4 by imperiouxx(m): 3:35pm On Oct 09, 2013 |
Walspring: Cheap? Do you mean cheap to secure admission for the agent and hell to pay tuition for the student or cheap to secure admission for the agent and cheap to pay tuition for the student? |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part4 by Nobody: 3:53pm On Oct 09, 2013 |
Amefrica:before you can go to Law school you need to do undergraduate law, you can't study any course and go to Law school. |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part4 by Nobody: 3:57pm On Oct 09, 2013 |
obotubong:if I haven't done my research I won't say I want to go and study Law in America, if I study Law in America I can come back to Nigeria to practice after I attend law school here in Nigeria. So there is no difference, I have friends who studied Law in America, UK and south Africa and they are in the Nigerian Law school now, I do a lot of research, i'm not a novice, I can't know it all so I came to this blog. |

kim k's girl: My sister, i know what i'm saying.. If you do undergraduate in political science (US) you can go to law school (US).. I dont know about 9ja oo but i know what i'm saying.. It's 'very' possible.. Most graduates holding bsc in political science end up in law school and they become a lawyer. You wanna prove me wrong Go ahead! |
