Riot At Yelwata, Along Makurdi-Abuja Expressway, Guma Lg. Benue State by bennieman: 10:55am On Apr 10, 2013 |
For about two days now, fulani herdsmen have attacked and killed tens of people who are natives of Yelwata. Following this development, the natives numbering about 1000 have come out with sticks and machetes to protest and have blocked the road completely. I am there now and a mix of soldiers and MOPOLs in about 10 vans have just arrived. Take note if you are taking this route. 2 Likes |

bennieman: For about two days now, fulani herdsmen have attacked and killed tens of people who are natives of Yelwata. Why are they protesting instead of fighting the Fulanis back , these jokers once swore to defend the unity of Nigeria with their last drop of blood why cant they defend themselves with one drop of their sweat 10 Likes |

Fulani are Nigerians and have the right to defend themselves. Why is it that thay hardly clash in any other Northern state except Jos and Benue? I guess Suswan and Jang are plotting evil against this fulani. 7 Likes |

in europe there are many countries with a population of less than 500,000 people, in nigeria there is no state with a population of less than 1million, its high time all states declare their self a country, put perimeter fencing round it borders, use the resources within its vicinity to feed it citizens and deport the fulanis to somalia,One nigeria is a mistake, Even Lord lugard knew it,that's why he allowed his wife to name us so 6 Likes |

The fulanis are very troublesome people. I was on my way to Abuja but I had to return due to the blockade. I guess the Tivs are trying to get the attention of the government through the protest. It was horrifying but thank God I left safely. |

In 1965, when Tivs rioted against the misrule of Northern Premier, Ahmadu Bello, he instructed Major Chris Anuforo, Commander JTF, to shoot to kill the rioters. Major Anuforo refused, insisting, according to their training, that he takes orders only from the Prime Minister through the GOC. The major was promptly redeployed, and that was one of the reasons he and other majors overthrew that Govt. Then war started. These very Tivs then joined forces to massacre Major Anuforo and his people. Will anyone Ibo rise to their defence again? This is one of the reasons THEY don't allow discussions of the Civil War. But will any Ibo speak up again for the Middle Belt? They must bear their Fulani cross. And the Fulani are relentless. Long live ONE NAJERIA. 13 Likes |

You can't blame Govt for troubles that have been there for over a century. You can call for national conference, or it will continue. |

About your gentle premier, read from Major-General Joe Garba how your gentle premier forced Joe's father to convert to islam, or lose his chieftaincy.
