dere is a step 2 do a nandroid back up already allign by xanders by creating "clockworkmod" folder on ur sd all in small letter without d quotation mark
after u download nandroid back up u also need 2 download busy box nd run it den smart install it
open ur nandroid back up goto settings u will see one myssff stuff sha download dt nd perform ur back up u shuld b gud 2 go
NOTE: Your fone must be rooted

xanders: a. Have you backed up all your data to your SD or PC? if not, you must do so immediately especially your contacts (goto contacts menu, import/export, backup to SD)
b. Have you done a nandroid backup of your present rom? easiest way out of a Brick? if not, you must go to google play and download "online nandroid backup". when youve done so, run online nandroid backup, you will need an internet connection to update the nandroid scripts. select CWRM mode, then click "start backup" (note : have atlest 512MB on your SD card). the backup should take about 20 mins

step 4- extract contents of tools_needed folder and install 7zip

step 5- use 7zip to extract the 10 split sys.yaffs2.img file (this can be done by copying them to the same folder the right clicking and selecting 7zip, extract archive)

step 6- boot your N3 into fast boot mode (this is done easily by removing the battery, and while holding volume-down button on plug in your usb cable, then wait till you see the TECNO logo displayed on the screen, wait for 5 second then release the volume-down button)

step 7 FLASHING THE TECNO:

At juncture you need to stop every other thing youve been doing while you wer doing this and concerntrate!!!

At this point i'm right to guess we've all installed our ADB drivers using the [i]Android universal ADB installer. if not go here to find out how to do so [url] https://www.nairaland.com/1261265/solution-boot-loop-bricked-techno#15537985[/url]
now, run Android AIO flasher.exe (found in tools needed folder)
next, in the AIO flasher window, the very first menu is what concerns us i.e. where its written fastboot flasher (Nandroid Restorer)(the others we shall explain in later tutorials)
click boot
click Select file(browse to where you saved the boot.img you downloaded above)
click erase
click flash

YOU MUST wait for the black window below to show "writing boot...OK" before you know its done

Congratulations your almost done!!

Simply repeat the same process for the sys.yaffs2.img file, only this time, we go:
click System
click Select file(browse to where you saved the sys.yaffs2.img you downloaded above)
click erase
click flash

once again
YOU MUST wait for the black window below to show "writing sys.yaffs2.img OK" before you know its done.
it should take about 50 seconds, depending on your system specs.

Lastly, unplug the usb cable,
now, while holding "volume-up" plug it back
keep holding volume up till you enter the Android 3e stock recovery menu.
using volume up and down to move
select "wipe cache", PRESS power button to select
when this is finished
select "wipe data/factory reset"

when this is done restart your phone
these last two steps are important..else you may have boot-loop

well..guess thats pretty much it. regarding the memory boost..i will post that momentarily.

Good to flash man. now if in the unforeseen future anything goes wrong with your n3 you simply restore the system.yaffs2 and userdata.yaffs2 using AIO.

lol..its N3 o..its a test mod using an android status bar app. I guess the script for the 3rd party status app is written for single sim androids like s2, s plus, etc. hence, the single network indicator

if your fone is rooted, you can actually change d jingles. replaced the start-up tone with the shutdown tone, so that i'm using d shutdown tone for both start-up and shutdown. if u have shorter mp3 files, u can use them...just make sure that they av the same name as the files u intend to replace, else #superBrick.

Link2sd: happened to me too, but solved it. go to link2sd settings and "recreate mount scripts". that should work. oh, reboot your fone before and after recreating d scripts.

what do u really mean by that? if i want to use nairaland.mp3 as my start up tone, then I have to rename it to the already existing sound and I save it in my phone... and what next

Iv not seen any improvement on the stock rom.
so dis is probably just a plus and minus from the original firmware. With root.

I did get a 130mb (only?)
system.yaffs2.img file and a 14.44kb
cache.yaffs2.img file but i want 2 know if
d 'not-found' warnings i got while bking
up d two ar important. Also i got a
786.92mb .android_secure.vfat.tar file
(dat can only be seen when i enable 2 see
hidden files wit root explorer), is dat also
important? Pls look into my concerns. Size

u berra do what you can to bckup...cuz its ur last hope if ur phone gets bricked.

I'm a sucker for custom firmwareS..
Reflashed it and it seems to be working out better than the first time.
But I still don't see D difference.

yes u can...if you do the nandroid backup u wil get files similiar to the one for d custom rom.
Just flash it the same way.

this is a beta version nd Xanders is taking his tym 2 get sumtin done 4 us u guys shuld appreciate and if u find a bug in d gingerbean rom pls try and post it 2 make d work easier. nd try 2 get information on how 2 make progress with dis project..
