That means if she wears 3-inch heels, she will be 6'7'', taller than the 6'6'' Kobe Bryant. grin grin

I just discovered that Nigeria holds the African record in the men's 100m and 4X100m relay; and the women's 100m and 4X100m relay!

I kinda knew that, since the naija men won a bronze medal at Athens. that race was intense.

I never knew naija women had that record. impressive

At the last African Athletic Championships in 2012, Nigerian women won 7 out of the 10 gold medals won by Team Nigeria. Gloria Asumnu got the gold in the 200m; while the Naija ladies swept both 4X100 and 4X400 relays. Both relay teams also set new Championship records.

As much as naija athletics has dropped, it will still be hard for any African country to match naija's sprint records. Africa has had no notable sprinter since Soji Fasuba retired. The promising ones are Nigerians (Divine Oduduru, Seye Ogunlewe and so on). In the womens, Maurielle Ahoure and Ruddy Milama are all but pretenders. They are easily dusted by Nigerians. Ghanaians used to be close by, but they've fallen way behind us now. Their best athletes usually lose out to Nigeria's youth athletes in regional games.
Nigeria still has the best sprint relay quartet in Africa. Only that our men are now sissies.

That's not all. In 2010, the Nigerian women swept all the sprint events. They won the 100m hurdles, 100m, 200m, 4X100m and 4X400m relays!! Talk about dominance. It was Okagbare that won the 100m race.

Wow, u hit the nail on the head! What our AFN officials should be doing now is to focus on how Naija athletes can compete with the world powers.

As for Murielle Ahoure, Sybellah, an Ivorian NLander; will have something to say about that grin
