Here in Enugu, we are peace loving people. BTW we have 82 Division Army base, Air Force and Navy bases. Not forgeting the police and others. There is enough weapon to fight any war in Enugu. Chime have also invested alot in securitx too.

The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Dikko Abubakar Wednesday declared Enugu State as having the lowest crime rate in the country, saying that this fact was buttressed by statistics and empirical
evidence.

Abubakar who spoke Wednesday while taking delivery of 100 brand new vehicles donated to the police by the Enugu State
Government, stated that this was largely a result of the tremendous
support that the administration of Governor Sullivan Chime has been
giving to the police and other security agencies.

In a statement sent to THISDAY by the Press Corp of the Government House Enugu, Abubakar was quoted to have said: “Today, I can confirm, as the Inspector-General of Police, that Enugu State has the lowest crime rate in Nigeria. I also confirm that Enugu is one the safest places in Nigeria. This is the result of the wonderful partnership between the Enugu State Government, the Police and other security agencies”.

He commended Governor Sullivan Chime for the gesture, saying it was an example that his colleagues should emulate.

Please what is your definition of business?

Enugu has
Innoson,
NIGERIA BREWERIES,
COCA COLA MANUFACTURING PLANTS
Aqua Rafa plants, the biggest drinking water plant in Nigeria.
Enugu has airport, a million hotels including golden royale and astoria villa where rooms cost as much as 40k per night.
Enugu has Anamco, Proda, Ogbete,
Toscana, New Berries, Etc etc.. Actually every bank in Anambra has its rehional headquaters in Enugu...

So what business are you talking about?

Illiterate, i guess your definition of business is those shops at upper iweka and main market where you can buy Jeans and Bra.

Since you so much love Anambra , where are you now because i am in Ogidi burying Chinua Achebe.
You killed it totally bruv! Blue murder! BIG UPz

Odenigbo Aroli: There should never be crime in Enugu;Reason,There is no business there, hence,no money to steal. However, during the time of Nnamani Enugu was considered a death zone because of the political killings, which was rife, then. Like I pointed out earlier,Enugu should never have any crime issues because its mostly a civil servants and residential city. Ain't nothing to celebrate, here. Chime to me hasn't done much because all he did was to continue the beautification of the Coal city, which was started by Nnamani, while the rest of the state perish in abject neglet. But most Enugites are too naive to see the writing on the wall. Soon as they see a few beautiful pictures of Enugu city their head swell and they instantly forget that Enugu state is still 90% undeveloped villages. So long as Enugu city is fine the rest of the state can kiss the dust. Very gullible if you ask me. Enugites need to elect a governor in the mold of Peter Obi to deliver them from the shackels of their elites.

As an Anambrarian living in Enugu, I find your comment distasteful.

You've been mentioning the fact that Enugu is poor. Do you mind elaborating.

It's a mind game. The way you look at well dressed people and think they must be rich but you wouldn't know they're going bankrupt.

The problem with Enugu (and Imo) is that we have so much power of spending but there are very few opportunities abound. We're regarded as classy, rich and ever ready to spend...so true
But most of the establishments are owned by politicians, people who made their money outside the country and a few people inward.
The establishments in question are those that urge people to spend more, and more on unnecessary things.

We generate income from those things nevertheless, but it doesn't circulate well to the lower class.
The lower class citizens are also being forced out of business and education by stupid government policies. Education is getting very high in regards to cost and very low in quality.

The main people benefiting from the government is the Nike people. The royal family has a very good link with the sullivan government. But still, the middle and lower class in their people have nothing. Their youths do not go to school. They're bent on government posts and the little change they get from illegal money sharing.

The royal family itself occupies the most posts in their local government but they have nothing to show for it.

Akwata? Now you're talking cheesy But, why can't the construction company consider that it's a market. No parking space, everywhere is already lit up with dirt.

Oh yes, am talking of Chimaroke Nnamani wink

Should i start naming what he built...he is the guy who opened up Enugu. Yes, we experienced a high rate of crime but he did something for the people. BTW, his regime was not partial. The guy is just an insecure morafucker.

U are the naive and ignorant one. Sorry for U. U cannot decipher a very simple issue like this. From Ages Enugu has always been calm and lively. Enugu is a very organized place to live. Do you know that even until now many civil servants of Anambra state still go to work to Awka from Enugu. This present IGP is not the first person to make this statement. Enugu was developed by the entire south-east and is more developed than any other part of south-east.
I'm not surprise that Enugu is peaceful. Do you know that they positioned two military barracks at the beginning and ending part of Enugu. They also have Air-force base in Enugu. The only GOC in South-South and South-east is leaving in Enugu. The security in Enugu is not bad at all.
When Okada people are freely working in Enugu, many military men usually join the Okada business in evening making security more assured.
U should be a Man (U are too old to be a boy)Ask Nigeria security intelligent, they will tell you that Enugu is monitored more than any other state in south-east and south-south.
U don't even know that when the Federal govt want to tackle the militants they usually send the military from Enugu(82 division)and when there were too many kidnapping in Aba the military was sent from 82 division Enugu to kill D man (Osisikankwu).
I won't say more than this, but even during Abacha time Enugu was choosing as the most peaceful state in the country. Are U still surprise that any young man/woman born and grown in Enugu find it difficult to live Enugu.
It is possible that more than 40% of Enugu residents are enlightened; so you can make Ur own conclusion.

What the hell are you talking? The roads built by Gov Chime through Arab Contractors are much more solid than the poor ones built by Nnamani. Remember the collapsed bridge at Amodu? Another example close to your home is the poorly built Agbani- Akpugo - Amagunze Road, done by Nnamani's administration. The Umueze- Amodu Road is yet another example.
Nkanu people should not blame Chime because we had our man at the governmentt house for 8yrs. The new road built at Obinagu/Ndiuno Uwani Akpugo was not done by Nnamani but due to the influence of gov Chime's Chief of Staff, Mrs Nwobodo.

Nightshift: What the hell are you talking? The roads built by Arab Contractors are much more solid than the poor ones built by Nnamani.

Oh my God at the bolded shocked shocked shocked
the road has started peeling dude...they've been renovating repatching the same roads over and over again embarassed

Amodu, yes i know. That bridge has been a real mess since time immemorial. But sullivan didn't do a good job on it again (Just like Abakpa bridge) embarassed
Erosion is gonna kill that bridge again, i run through there all the time since Last december (even with the dust)

Errm, soory, Akpugo - Amagunze Road is still ongoing wink

Nobody would ever blame chime and chimaroke, chimaroke brought high development to Nkanu. Chime should do so in the other communities....That is what i believe in cool

I've travelled to my cities but I still love and want to spend the rest of my life in coal city. Abuja is good but the high cost of living makes the town horrible.
042 is relatively a safe town,...place to get classy services at low cost.

more of it...good remarks and news.
