If saying the truth amounts to tribalistic views, then we need more of Achebe to divide this hellhole called nigeria. Obama knows.

Rewriting history I call it
Who started and instituted political tribalism in Nigeria
Is the answer a mystery?

A lot of children benefited from Awo, especially the 2 million Biafran babies he starved to death.

In war things like that happens. It's not full of roses and chocolate, ask Iraq. Ojukwu started an unstrategized war, and declined food for his ppl when it was presented.

Anyway out.

Which world did he draw together?

Africa that is more divided than ever or Africa that is lagging wayyyy behind "the rest"?

Obama is just trying to be politically nice.
This thread will not be complete without poeple like you. Achebe has finished his work and left his name on the sands of time. No matter what you post here on NL it wont change the fact that Achebe was a great man.

You from the supposed superior race (according to only you and your misguided flock) known as Yoruba don't know how to use simple google? Wonders shall never end cheesy

See how ordinary letter is paining people grin

Your boy got the nobel and you are not happy again..

There was a hulla balloo list of dignitaries from around the world expected at the funeral. The UN's Ban Ki Moon was even on the list. It turned out that President of Ghana was the only foreign leader present. Why did not Obama send a delegate? What weight does the speech have when it failed representation at the man's burial?

Ojukwu had no food but optimistic that his people would be fed by Nigeria. How 'wise' he was.

More Achebe news

Born in Ogidi, an Igbo village in Nigeria, Chinua Achebe studied at University College (now the University of Ibadan). His first novel, Things Fall Apart, is the most widely read work of African fiction, having sold more than 12 million copies in English alone. It has been translated into 50 languages. His other prominent works include No Longer at Ease, Arrow of God, A Man of the People, and Anthills of the Savannah.

so the more than 10 and 12 million we read is about things fall apart the English version alone

Is this book written in Chinese?
We could be talking of 100 more millions o

This book is read by most West Africans, many Africans and Asians and most high schoolers in the USA

The 12 million is a gross underestimation ImHO

The guy who was offered the post of prime minster with powers, but who chose to be a powerless ceremonial President!

Nice question. The FG didn't even send a powerful delegation to receive his corpse in the Abuja airport. This is unlike the case of Wole Soyinka, inspite of his criticism of IBB, had a Nigerian delegation in a presidential boeing ariline jet to grace his winning the Nobel Prize in 1986.

Nice to know you were monitoring the arrival of his body grin

When Ojukwu was given a burial like none other, you cried and cried and tore your agbada to shreds
The president of Nigeria, the highest man in government attended Achebes burial but you are happy he was not at the airport to receive his body?
Do you know how sissified you sound?
Do you know how the family wanted his arrival as opposed to Ojukwu's

Is there any man from your locality that has ever been buried like those two
Please name the person
