Deeper life as a church doesn't wed couples that are not dressed in the "deeper life-ish" way. You are given an option to either comply and dress "appropriately" or wed in another church.

I know this cos my cousin wanted to wear a gown like Kumuyi's DIL's own and a veil but was seriously kicked against by the church commitee. She was told that d dress she will be wearing will be sown by one seamstress who is also a member (heard they have a particular lady who makes these wedding dresses) or she takes the sample from the woman and go make anywhere. But it must be that particular way.

Now, my question is, if deeper life refused to wed a bride who didn't conform to their rules partaining dressing, why did they wed this particular bride? That is the hypocrisy and double standards people are talking about.

One thing though, I heard Deeper life sponsors most of their members' weddings. I guess that is why they call the shot.

I am a kumuyi fan. I love what he stands for. I love his teachings, very biblical and spiritual but the hypocrisy in that church is something else.

DL members are not subjected to wearing china whites, really. Although, sometimes it depends on the Marriage Committees in your locality and how they 'translate' modesty as regard wedding dresses ... I did use bridal satin for my wedding gown and it was simply gorgeous. Christianity should be a way of life... And, the closer we are to the Master, the easier it becomes for us to obey his will and purpose for our lives. The earlier we understand that Church Principles does not equate Bible doctrines, the more meaningful our Christian journey would be. Heaven is more Important.. Let us guard our hearts..#mythought

PS: that wedding was conducted in Jamaica! not Nigeria... Could there be China whites there? LOL.

the deeper life wedding pictures are actually very nice, so is the one in the op.

sometimes the heavy loads of makeup nigerian brides dump on themselves, is much too visible and makes the lady look like she's hiding something, or pregnant.

Yeah, its up to them to dress how they like, and its also up to the church to be consistent with their rules not minding who it affects and not bending them when it comes to "people that matter".
