If so, you might struggle with the exercise. Typically you compare ideology - Far Right, Right, Centrists, Left, Far left or Capitalist, Socialist, Communist The second benchmark you can use are results - Level of unemployment, spending on infrastructure, Inflation, GDP, etc. For the second, you need both parties to have been in power. So in Nigeria, you can use IGR, GDP, etc for states but not federal because only PDP has been in power. 2 Likes |

Katsumoto: Correct. I made the same observation on an old thread about APC. And till Nigeria political parties can be defined by their ideologies, I don't really think our democracy is worth celebrating. With ideological leanings, at least you would know what to expect when you cast your vote. Right now, they're different sides to the same coin. |
