atleast during this strike they have achieved something Rome was not built in a day whatever is left of their demand does not justify keeping students at home for more than 3 months in the middle of a semester I don't think ASUU has the interest of student at heart call off the strike while the battle continues

Dont we have a state govt again or they no longer exist to pay the salaries of their lecturers in their state established universities..What is our Govs doing..FG is now doing everything in this country while the state govs key in to loot and loot to turn around to blame the FG on their own laziness. In the state level you dare not talk or criticize the Gov anyhow we all it..If only the states can do half than entire Nigeria will benefit..

Your submission to brainwatch does not mean other should join you in the league.
We should pray for our leader to continue looting our tresury and subject us to poverty.
We should pray for our leader by our pastors whose choose to compromise work of God for work of demon.
Lastly, we should pray for our leader to continue romancing and dine with rogue that will never allow this country to function.
I think the only person who deserve prayer here is you for not been able to make use of your brain effectively.

Is this not the same Maku of the University of Jos? This man is really becoming too unbecoming. But your salaries and frivolous allowances and that of your co travelers will boost the country's economy? Abi, MUGAFFAL

D annoying thing is most of the leaders opening thier mouths to spew rubbish benefitted from a system that can be described as conducive for tertiary education, went to school on government scholarships, ate in cafeterias where they were served choice meals with meal tickets, had their beds made after they wake up in the morning with the sheets changed, had good up to date laboratories. Had spacious libraries that could accommodate the student population, had steady electricity to study on campus; just ask anybody that went to universities in the 60's and 70's. What is obtainable in this country today is appaling. A graduate of engineering is helpless outside the walls of the university. We need a Jerry Rawlings if we the commoners can't get this stupid politicians to do what is right. In universities today, aside from the focused students what is obtainable are misguided students who engage in cultism, prostitution, yahoo yahoo, armed robbery and the rest of them to mention a few. Maku has made government broke through his ministerial platform he used to lie to nigerians. Nansense

colombiana: Abeg the ASUU demands is outrageous, for christ sake this universities generate more than enough capital, its not as if after FG drops the billions our educational sector would improve. The only thing that's gonna improve is the fleet of cars in their compounds and more Zeros in their account.
please tell them.what has ASUU done 4 we students.strike 2day strike 2moro. this money dia asking 4 is just going 2 dia pockets. even if fg gives them what they want, then in 2017(after they have squandered the money ), they will say GEJ (abi government) did not honour their 2013 agreement.
Re: ASUU Demands Will Cripple Govt – Maku by jayriginal: 12:50pm On Sep 05, 2013
georgecso:
Maku appealed to the ASUU to have a rethink on its demands and understand that there were many competing demands from other sectors.
He said the huge funds spent to restore normalcy in some hitherto crisis-torn parts of the North could have been used to develop the educational sector.

What about the huge funds used to sustain the luxurious lives of our legislators and their cronies ?
Re: ASUU Demands Will Cripple Govt – Maku by chunny01(m): 12:55pm On Sep 05, 2013
Mr maku we all know dat d country will not cripple if government release dat amount of money, on d other d education system in nigeria cannot just improve in 1 day, so ASUU should just take d fund presented 2 dem n call off d strike and if nothing is done in 2014 den we can wait 4 dem @ d beginning of 2015 b4 d election.

You are the one being insincere here.If not how could you have implied that the GEJ administration totally clueless and completely failing? In GEJ i see a man who is willing to lead Nigeria to greatness but has been faced with the challenges of contending with the pull-him-down attitude of some unscrupulous and corrupt politicians who think that they must rule Nigeria at all cost.I am begining to sense some political undertone in the ongoing ASUU strike. Some APC loyalists somewhere are fueling the strike.Period!,they are losing with their 'bokoharam' conundrum now they want to use ASUU to actualize their 2015 selfish political ambition. These are the same people that claim to love Nigeria so much.
zeen nurei:

See lies. When will Nigerians understand that this administration is completely unsincere and are not ready to make growth and development succeed in our dear nation Nigeria. Lets join hands and stop the era of tyranny and impunity.
One of the major solution to the problems of a country like Nigeria that is standing on a diamond but busy pursuing not even bronze but its shadows is to vote for the people that are zeal to serve humanity, bacause service to humanity is the beginning of human dignity.

The Nigerian system already has strong institutions but without strong personalities to propel its survival, this was an assertion by U.S president Barack Obama. Nasiru Elrufai in the introduction of his book the Accidental public servant said "As things stand currently ,we have surrendered the bulk of our political space to the dishonorable, the incompetent and worse to the criminal mind". This is the very reason why poverty has continued to permeate deeply into the spectrum of our society.

God bless Nigeria........

ASUU want the FG to pay them 100% of arrears not their recurrent salaries..In any agreement instalment payment is allowed but ASUU is demanding for 100% of arrears to be payed now i wonder o. even dengote knows both a refinery and the money cannot be done in one year without systematic long term approach..Are these fraction govs talking about ASUU or Nigeria 'NO' because they know is their responsibility to pay their state university lecturers well while the FG pays the federal univesities and improve on all infrastructures across universities in Nigeria.

Maku and other honourable ministers should publicly declare their assets. May be that will help provide clues to solving ASUU's problems.

Lordave: I'm not saying that they shouldn't be granted their wish, but a father who wants to impress a hardworking family must make sure he has the required resources and leaves nobody untouched.

If federal govt should honour that agreement at this point in time, then they should expect other associations to start popping up and demanding greatly even at more dire circumstances.

This strike could be called off, the ASUU could be meeting with FG while lectures are going on in our various institutions.

If you are in support that FG should pay the amount ASUU is demanding, you may come back here to scream that an important project has been abandoned by the federal govt and that this administration is clueless.

don't think you actually read through my post. What you proposed was exactly what ASUU did. The agreement was made in 2009 and the strike is coming up 4yrs later. ASUU neva try? Fgn had a whole 4yrs to honour an agreement.

This Government and story telling. How will funding the universities cripple the country? They had better find a lasting solution to this problem rather than stopping the lecturers salary as from this month. This strike has a potential of lasting 6 months if care is not taken though we don't pray for that to happen.

Lordave: ASUU should also be sensible. How could they be asking for such amount of money by this time of the year, knowing fully well that this year's budget must have been implemented.

I think some people have highjacked this association for selfish interests. They want the federal government to go on borrowing so that they can open their wide, smelling hypocritic mouth and say that the president is clueless.

GEJ can not be dragged down by rascals.
If Bill Gate is owing you NGN100 billion since 2009 and he keeps telling you he is broke, and u should go back to work...meanwhile he spends millions of dollars on luxury cars and lavish parties... What will you do? Will you see reasons with him?

Make federal govt pay ASUU dia money. They should meet their demands and stop talking trash!!
