Please do you mean one year tuition deposit because I presume you paid the initial tuition deposit before your school sent you the visa letter.

Now if you meant one year tuition deposit. I would say it depends on how loaded your pocket is at the moment. Many people in Nland like me paid only the small initial tuition deposit until Embassy instructed us to pay more. Some people were not even instructed to pay more and we all got our TRV.

So no hard or fast rule about it.

I did not pay any initiate deposit before my school sent LOA, I have acceptance letter with me already, it was delivered to me yesterday ... I just want to know if I should a token to the school before I submit my docs for embassy to processing, and like how much I should pay upfront because I don't have much in my bank acc at moment , I have just 1.1M in my bank account right now and I want to sponsor myself because I have a cargo company myself with CAC certificate and I have 5 Land properties on my own... Can I sponsor myself?

Really deres no hard or fast rule concerning dis
Its not in d embassy's requirement for application.
However, some schls ask for initial deposits like d first semester fees for u to secure a space in ur chosen programme while some don't. Some schls only give u a payment of fees due date.after which u might be withdrawn from ur programme if u avnt paid.
Also, it might indicate desperation to d VO.
(U paying without being asked to- dis my agent told me)
On the other hand , it might mean u are really serious and financially bouyant in pursuing ur academics.
In all of this, it doesn't affect ur application. Whether u pay or not u will get ur trv, God willing.
And most times tuition and board payment instruction comes with ur medics except in rare cases like chrigo's.

Pay ur fees b4 applying if u wanna, but it doesn't guarantee the visa, depending on d VO, but I'll advice u wait until u are instructed by CDHC, cos if dey don't approve d visa, u wud hv to start asking for refund and u mite lose some cash

You did your medical test at Asaju yesterday and u didn't care to ask them how many days it would take them to send your result to CIC. Please call Asaju customer care and ask ur question. Here is their number 012700040

The amount you mentioned is kinda low. You need to really beef it up. If you can't , you need to start looking for a co sponsor fast. I'm sure that amount won't be enough for 1 year tuition and board. You need to prove to the VO that you have enough funds to sustain yourself for the duration of your program without working. N1.1M to me is a fast ticket to denial. You must have enough for one year tuition and board with some extra remaining. It all depends on what your tuition and board amounts to. For example, if your one year tuition and board is N4.5M, then you need to have a SOA of N6-9M.

Other gurus in the house will do justice to your question when they come.

Amefrica: Hi everybody!! I know Canny is strict about their rules.. Are International Students allowed to work during the first year of school?
you are not permited by canadian law to work off campus until after 6 months of maintaining a full time status and you will need to apply for a work permit to be able to do so. However, you can work on-campus where you are studying without any restrictions, so far you can secure an employment withing the campus. This is why I posted a link in my last post so that everyone will see and lean from the mistake of the two nigerian stundents. But since someone who is very current said its an old news, I guess i need to be careful not to post any stale news in future. But I must say, let us not use our replies and responses on this thread to discourage anyone that might have any valuable information that regards this thread. Goodluck 2 everyone.

I got you bro!! Pls don't mind any ill response. If you have any links to news that can benefit all pls don't hesitate to post it. We're all here to learn, no one is an island.

So, I'm allowed to work on campus as soon as I get to school?
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 5 by Whole79: 2:12pm On Nov 16, 2013
@Amefrica, you are so allowed to work on-campus the next day you arrive school, lol! On a more serious note, there is no restrictions so far you can secure an employment within your campus. The only thing is you are restricted to how many hours you can work/week. This link should shed more light to your part. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/work.asp goodluck to you bro.
