funny games and results everywhere, i can only hope u guys bn busy watchin too
noteworthy:
- shaq has really been dominant, i watch phoenix just becos of him now grin grin grin
- the main battles this season in a funny way shapes up as the new faces of the nba leading their teams against the established stars. new faces include lebron, dwight, CP3, carmelo while y'all know the established babas
- cavs had a chance to go top but they flopped, could have been sweet to end the year as no one

Oh my. . . .I never woulda thought

well. . .what can I say. I am something special grin grin grin

But sorry o. . .Those Celts have slowed their roll a bit on this road trip

Still look the strongest team over seven games sha.

Cavs. . . .Cavs. . .Cavs. They are flattering to deceive in my opinion.
Aint as good as their record.

The Magic, Pistons, the Celts of course are all better from the East, and prolly
on par with the Hawks and East.

When is Montay Ellis gonna come back. . . .I would like him to rescue Don Nelson's position.
The league is a lot worse off with Nellie out of it.
Re: Nba Season '08/09 by A40(m): 7:39pm On Dec 31, 2008

lol T-mac needs to be bubble wrapped before going on the court.

shaq is having a career revival and i was hoping to see shaq the ESPN analyst grin

ROTFLOL . . . grin grin is that bubble wrap for protection from the game or from Artest when he snaps?

I hear say Starbury might be getting a locker in the Celtics clubhouse . . . I have mixed feelings. Forgetting I've despised him over the years, we need the scoring from him coming off the bench, but men I hope its not at the cost of team chemistry. No worries though, KG can take him down anyplace, anytime.
Re: Nba Season '08/09 by bawomolo(m): 6:06am On Jan 03, 2009
i heard the rockets have tranquilizers in case artest has an outburst grin

it would be interesting to see if starbury can be a teamplayer, well it's gonna be fun watching eddie house and starbury fighting for shots he he

see as the Celts dey flounder sha. . . .

From chasing the all time season wins record, they are now jawing with
themselves as much as they face off with the officials.

Losing to the Knicks. . . . now that is just taking the biscuits  grin grin grin

Oh well. . . . . .Steph coming too the rescue

lol . . . we'll see how Doc distributes the shots. But if Starbury is really brought in, he'll immediately become the #1 offensive option off the bench.

Yep na real flounder indeed. . . . the defensive intensity has waned. Long term they still look aight but . . . they need to win games against lesser opponents such as the NY bricks.
Re: Nba Season '08/09 by lailai2(m): 5:11am On Jan 06, 2009
hey y'all
so it seems like Jesoul was always right about the celts bench needing more depth cos in this kind of period, your bench might just give you the little jolt you need

anyways, we now hav the best record in the league again so thanx for the slump, the cavs and magic might see the light that the no 1 seed in the east is not sewn up afterall grin grin grin grin, i wonder how come the teams all lose at the same time when one of them can gain an advantage, cos when the celts start winnig again, its bye
i also hope the spurs are not becoming as strong as b4 o
the injuries this year hav just been 4much

What did I say? cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy I knew the Celts will soon crash but they need to crash a lil further. smiley

As for Lai lai and his lakers, don't get too happy just yet. I see a further depression this year in your PCT.

Re: Nba Season '08/09 by A40(m): 2:28am On Jan 07, 2009
The Lakers are actually playing some D which is interesting.Trevor Ariza has really been a livewire for that team what the Lakers need to do is just get that team defense on a night in night out basis their roster is too deep and the quality is almost overflowing if they get their chemistry right then they would be damn near unstoppable

Melo is out for 3 weeks by the way and thats a big issue for Denver very big issue
Re: Nba Season '08/09 by H2O2: 4:35am On Jan 07, 2009

Bawo, I'm beginning to dislike the Bulls because of you cheesy cheesy cheesy Your team is not even in the top 8. It's all good. Stick to NFL. . . that's all your beautiful state is good at. cheesy tongue At least we are doing well enough.

Celtics, Celtics, Celtics! cheesy
My fave team so far. smiley smiley smiley I love them this way.
Re: Nba Season '08/09 by Moonstone(f): 7:02am On Jan 07, 2009
Now. . .
We Beat the LAKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!! We ended their 16-game winning streak at home. Lai lai and H2O2, sorry ehn. Tonight, we proved that we are, in fact, a team to contend with.
Bawo, eat my shorts cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy
Re: Nba Season '08/09 by A40(m): 7:33am On Jan 07, 2009
The Lakers lost tonight but the more pertinent question now is are the wheels falling off for the Celtics?first they lose at home to the Knicks and now they lose at the Bobcats? shocked shocked
Re: Nba Season '08/09 by lailai2(m): 7:49am On Jan 07, 2009
i cant even comprehend the lakers-hornets game. . . , . kobe messing up in clutch time, west droppping 40 and gasol just 10, maybe they just had an off day, anyways from the look of things playoffs will be very interesting this year, some funny results

about the celts, i agree there is an emergency right now. when bobcats took them to overtime, i though it would be over, that they would regain composure but i tot wrong, the slump is bright and still shining, hope it lasts a little longer. . . . .so cavs are in for the no 1 seed battle, hmmmmm

lakers just need to focus on their game EVERYTIME, not play good defence for 7 matches then have a lapse, hope they don't have this lapse in the playoffs. but right now, they can't even afford the lapse cos we need the no 1 seed
btw this injuries are starting to pile up little by little
Re: Nba Season '08/09 by JeSoul(f): 7:11pm On Jan 07, 2009
A-40 & Lai
which kin emergency?  smiley  the C's are simply going through a rough stretch, no need to panic as this team is playoff built and can win a 7-game series against any other team. no be record pesin go chop, I'll be satisfied with a 60-22 record as long as they bring that trophy back to Beantown . . . so If na panic all of una dey find, you no get am  cool  the Celtics will be fine.

Now where is that yeye Wade who was arguing with me when I told him the Celtics needed to buff up their bench? We need to acquire at least 2 veterans, one with scoring, the other with height - with that we shall be invincible.

Lakers lost? so what? they're still better than the Hornets so Moonstone enjoy your 5-minute victory. I don't even see the Hornets defeating Houston or SanAntonio in a 7-game series. They are playing way below their potential.

Oh no you didn't! angry tongue Girl, take your bitterness with the Celts far away from my Hornets o! cheesy Don't worry. I'm sure 3rd position is not as bad as they make it seem.

Hornets are good and they proved that yesterday because for the first time in a long while, CP3 was not the star of the game. It was D. West. Lakers played well and if you watched the fourth quarter closely, you would have seen that Hornets kept their composure quite well. How many teams recover from a trail of 7 pts to win by 11 pts in the fourth quarter against the Lakers? They were pretty much tied during the other quarters. And again, we defeated them at home. That's something that ended their 16-game home winning streak since November. So excuse me while I gloat over this particular victory. cheesy

Against Houston? Are you kidding me? Spurs I can understand but Houston? Oh no! I'm happy we have beaten those two teams this season. Playoffs are a long way ahead. I know the team is more experienced than they were last year. Last year was their first time in the playoffs in a long time. I am almost confident that if they do that 3 more times, they will be able to defeat the spurs and the Rockets in one swoop. The one thing I like is B. Scott is using his head well. We just got Daniels and Posey this season. He's no longer looking at just skill, he's looking at experience and I'm sure it will pay us in the long run.

Ok ma!! after winning 19 straight y'all have lost 5 of your last 9 games or thereabout and you feel there is no need to panic hmm i don't share that sentiment ooh i still insist y'all rode on home-court advantage last year if you don't win first seed in that Eastern Conference una no go make NBA Finals you saw that in the ATL and Cleveland series last season y'all would have easily lost either of those games if you had to play on the road the aura of unbeatable is not exactly there right now and till y'all bounce back the doubts are sure to keep coming lets see how you fare against the Rockets
Re: Nba Season '08/09 by lailai2(m): 11:42pm On Jan 07, 2009
A-40, thank you
jesoul: i'm not sayin there's an emergency about the level of talent in celts but in the battle for number 1 seed. . . . . right now, it seems being no 1 seed doubles or triples a team's odds of winning the championship. . . . .but if u think it dosent matter for the 'powerful' celts 'who can win a 7-games series against any other team home court or not' , think again
A-40 has said it all
Re: Nba Season '08/09 by JeSoul(f): 12:06am On Jan 08, 2009
You fellas are right about the importance of home court adv . . . no doubt about that. It's hard to push buttons right now cos the season is still very young. A team can go on a 15-game win streak and win their division, while a team who's been good all year can limp into the postseason with an inferior seed.

A-40,
yeah I know there is some cause for concern, but not panic smiley. Slumps come and go, way I see it, they'd better struggle now than late March cool. Now we can all let those 70 win bulls rest, their record is secure for at least another season smiley.

HornetStone grin grin grin
you guys are getting better though, I give you that, after starting 8-7 or something like that. Though I smack on the Rockets, if they were all healthy (physically & mentally) at the right time, they can challenge ANY team in the west. The thing is the Hornets have not be consistent, I need to see more before my faith is renewed in them . . . not forgetting I picked them to win the west this year at the start of the season angry they have just disgraced calling skills cool
Re: Nba Season '08/09 by lailai2(m): 12:16am On Jan 08, 2009
good point about the home court and celts but u must really underrate the west if u think rockets(even when physically and mentally ready) can win the west
i also like the rockets by the way, it seems t-mac's just getting worse when he plays, it may soon be 'time'
Re: Nba Season '08/09 by JeSoul(f): 12:24am On Jan 08, 2009
You know the west has really disappointed me. Many teams I thot would explode this yr have been average. I think apart from the Lakers, the west can easily go to 8 different teams. I mean look at the records:

New Orleans 21-10
San An 23-11
Denver  24-12
Dallas 21-13
Phoenix 19-12
Portland 20-14
Houston 21-15
Utah 20-15

There is no clear above-the-rest team, everybody has a shot. SA has experience, Blazers-youth, Nuggets-Billups etc . . . if any of the above gets their act together and take their intensity to another level they can carry through to the finals. We'll see sha
Re: Nba Season '08/09 by lailai2(m): 12:30am On Jan 08, 2009
i dont know why these statistics disappoints you, these statistics also point to the high level of competition, i still cant imagine one of the 8 u listedwill not got to the playoffs
and the injury problems this year have been incredible
