PHIPEX: Somebody should tell fashola that there is a Ghana Stock Exchange, Kenya Stock Exchange etc. Nigeria is a unique entity, let's stick to what works for us. If he needs a stock exchange that bears Lagos, the Lagos state govt should establish one afterall some cities have more than one exchange.
Don't mind him, when sanusi Brought Islamic Banking,He was one of the People that said that System is a very good one But the name in a Circular and fragile nation is the problem with it.Were am waiting for these Hypocrits is when the will land to their Final game Plan of becoming their own country since Nothing of Nigeria Interest them again.I wonder what would hv happened if the were the ones With Oil in Nigeria?.Self Centered People Claiming Nationalists and Progressives.I rest my Case

NNPC should also be changed to NDPC (Niger Delta Petroleum Company) and every association affiliated with petroleum products.
Is Ogun in the Niger Delta? is Lagos in the Niger Delta? Sorry to burst your bubble, but those 2 states are oil producing so get updated. Weak analogy: epic fail.

Fashola is, irrespective of his education a secessionist and is always biased in his application of intelligence. Intelligence in the wrong direction is very dangerous. If Lagos Stock Exchange was renamed Nigeria Stock Exchange for unification, why does Fashola want its nomenclature reverted ?

History will remember Fashola as someone who deprived APC inroad to Anambra by deporting Igbos against the constitution of Nigeria by altering the nomenclature of deportation to "re-uniting" with "parents" at Onitsha bridge-head by 2:AM

Wisdom humbles, but Fashola is intelligent and not wise. When he becomes wise, if ever', he will become a nationalist.

Jezuz...where do these backward things come from? For the 3rd time I have to update you: several South Western states HAVE oil. Hello, say it after me "SEVERAL SOUTH WESTERN STATES HAVE OIL". Repeat that daily for the next 6 months and hopefully it will finally sink into your empty skull.

Atlantic ocean is not the only route. The first thing you see before entering the SE is River Niger, it so big even a blind man can see it.
Are you trying to tell me its only lagosians that are into stock exchange?

Lagos was nothing before it was made the capital of Nigeria, in the same way Abuja was nothing until it was made the capital.
Deal with it.

Right, you can route through River Niger. Good idea! Why are your governors not thinking about this? We have had that bull$hit talk of "Lagos being nothing before it was capital" and every unschooled and uninformed with ability to learn have already been taught. If you weren't taught back then, it's too late for you.

Naturally, cities should have their own Stock Exchange markets.

I know about New York Stock Exchange, Los Angeles Stock Exchange, Chicago Stock Exchange, Houston Stock Exchange, etc.

I think there should be a Port Harcourt Stock Exchange.

Nigeria is too economically centralized.

When Lagos is called the commercial 'nerve' of Nigeria, does it mean that even a humble 70% of trade is done in Lagos?

I'm an offshore Surveyor and I can tell you more than 85% of our oil and gas is situated in the SS and SE regions.

Go do your research and stop being tribalistic.

Not a bad idea, but there are way too much sentiments in this country for something as simple and inconsequential as changing the name to happen.
Too much sentiments from all parties.
My brothers from the west will carry it on their heads, and we Won't hear word.
My brothers from the east will start throwing their own tantrums.
My brothers from the north.....hehehehe well nothing consine them for this kind matter, their own na presidency.
So much fuss will be generated over absolutely nothing.

The question should be why have our past leaders failed to put a Port in the SE.
Bear in mind, NPA is controlled by the FG. If the FG doesnt approved the construction of Sea Port, it cant be built, No Navy for Security e.t.c

Lagos was nothing, i know it hurts but its the truth.

In that case, Calabar should be restored as the Capital of Nigeria and if you go to oil producing countries, the oil producing regions are usually the most developed. NPA should be relocated to the SE region since they are the ones activily involved in Importation. And he shouldnt impose yoruba baba oloja in non-yoruba market.

Fashola should focus on things that unifies the nation and not those that cause division.

Fashola dont forget Lagos was nothing until it became the capital of Nigeria.

Continue to wait on the FG. As far as the FG is concerned, PH already serves that zone. You don't like it, then build your own damn thing. Surely if you have sensible governors and you have a viable business plan, it is something that can be worked out with the FG.

I have looked up the Vitriol you choose to call "Reasons" in your Posts, and I must say, they is nothing reasonable about them. You say Nigeria and other African Countries will never develop, what you and some other I.diots out there don't understand is that there is no developed Nation that hasn't had a worse Time of it than Nigeria while getting to where they are now. Nigeria is not the best Country, but it is far,far from the worst. I believe that Nigeria's number 1 Problem is Tribalism, but I also believe that the intensity of that is decreasing with every Generation and that if we can scale through this tumultuous Times, there is nothing that can stop Nigeria from becoming a "First World Country". To do that,People like you who have a bloated Opinion of their Intelligence need to go to their History Books and see if the Countries they so much admire were built to what the are by People who could see nothing good about their Countries,or by People able and willing to work, and fight for Freedom and Peace,Unity and Progress.

For you to say Nigeria has not reached the stage where our stock exchange will be named after Lagos, just like the NYSE, shows you didn't read the post: our stock exchange was originally the Lagos Stock Exchange until 1977 when the military changed the name.
