The Raid: Redemption

Oh my... I spent half the time screaming. The fight scenes are f cking INCREDIBLE!! The most nail-biting is the climatic fight scene with Mad Dog. Long, bloody, bone jarring, grueling, intense but so entertaining.

Whew. 8/10 biko. I can't believe I've had this movie in my laptop for more than two years. Thank God for the lockdown grin

Fantasy Island (2020)...5/10
Genre:Adventure, Fantasy, Horror

C'mon, folks here who said this was a dumpster fire & unwatchable, what made you folks declare it so? Even Rotten Tomatoes, I don't get the very poor review on their site, if they could rate 2 dumpster fires( The Main Event & Gretel & Hansel) above 20%, why shouldn't this get a pass?. Could it be that as an adaptation to 1978 series of the same name, it failed to live up to the expectations of it's predecessor?

IMO as a cinephile, I'd say Fantasy Island wasn't really as horrible as critics slammed it, neither was it good, but rather, it was an ok or fair movie which works as a silly escapism.

I haven't seen the series, but i found the premise quite intriguing, though predictable. Acting was very shallow, no of em' cast wowed me. Cinematography was rich.

Plotholes were a reoccurring decimal all through the flick, some were ok, others were unforgiving. The plot twist was also kinda poorly delivered/executed. It was kinda categorized under the Adventure, Fantasy, Horror genre, but it was more of the former 2 than the later, as it literally had no element of horror in it.

Not bad, not good either, but it was still very much watchable.

how will anybody remember Cuba Gooding in a hundred years time when nobody gives a fvck about him now, truth is tom cruise is far more relevant in hollywood than cuba gooding, oscar or no oscar.

Does the name Cary Grant ring a bell to you? I bet it doesn't. Grant once upon a time was the 2nd most popular actor in Hollywood, unfortunately, he retired without winning any major awards. Today, no one remembers him, and it hasn't even been 100 years yet.

People are remembered more for personal achievements, than high grossing films. Zoe Saldana has starred in 3 highest grossing films in the history of hollywood, and yet, she's still relatively unknown. Why? She has no personal glory to her name. These are facts.

Homefront (2013)

Typical Jason Statham flick. All hat and no cattle. Long on fight scenes, and short on everything else.

Tom Cruise is a 3 time golden globes winner,a producer guild award winner and those guys you mentioned do not have the same star power as Cruise.how many times have cuba gooding top the list of most powerful celebrities or actors.

If we are talking awards here, tom cruise is still above cuba gooding,he has more awards to his name

the oscars lack credibity. If not Harisson ford, liam neeson should hav won by now

When you say someone deserves or ought to have won an Oscar, that means the individual has a handful of noteworthy performance which should have won him/her the award, but didn't.
I love Liam Neeson's as an actor, but frankly speaking, he doesn't deserve that award, asides his performance in SCHINDLER LIST, dude is a typecast actor, he basically does the same thing all the time. Taken, Unknown, Non-stop, The commuter, the grey........all are basically same o sh.it.

For Harrison Ford, he's a great actor no doubt, but he doesn't really have the acting range. He's basically more of an action actor & the Oscars don't always consider an actors performance in action blockbusters. If you're conversant with his works/filmography, you'd find out very few of his performance really stood out. For me, The Fugitive, is the only one that comes to mind.

A Producer Guild Award is a micky mouse award. Golden Globes is nowhere as prestigious as the Oscars. Nah bruv, Tom Cruise hasn't won the big one yet.

Look at it this way; If The Oscars is a gold medal, the Golden Globes is a flower.

Star power will get him nowhere with the next generation. When Oscar winners are reviewed, his name will not be there, but Cuba Gooding's name will be there in gold.

Mortal Kombat legends: Scorpion's revenge 8/10.

A very nice adaptation. Way better than the old animated series. I really hope they make a sequel or another for a different characters. I don't know why they never use that mortal Kombat theme song.

Not using the Mortal Kombat theme music was a real missed opportunity

The bolded shows you haven't even watched the very film you're defending, because you'd know the film's timeline was 2017.

My criticism of the primitive tech lies in the fact that the tech didn't look futuristic.

Many actors are stuck in typecast bubble, but while some typecasting are conspicuous, others are very subtle.

Triangle 2009

After a terrible accident at sea, a woman finds out that she is in a time loop. The movie follow our protagonist as she tries best to "play her role" in the time loop, break free and return to her child.

The movie has a good setting, the cinematography is OK and the acting is great. The movie is also kinda bloody so I guess it's a horror?

It also handles the concept of time loops in a less generic way. Since the advent of Groundhog day, movies that are about time loops usually follow the same generic formula, but it's thrilling to see this movie take a different route.

The best way to to describe Triangle is a mindfuck.
There's a shroud of mystery on where the characters we are watching are, why the time loop exists or even if the event happening is real.
The ending however is open for interpretation. For instance, I believe that the time loop is not real and that the protagonist was dead the whole time.

This movie gets a solid 8/10 from me. Try and watch it if you can.

Triangle is not a mindfuck, nigga.

Mindfuck is a film that messes with your head and leaves you more confused than you were prior to starting the film. Shutter Island is a mindfuck, Donnie Darko is a mindfuck.

Triangle is very easy to understand. A woman is trapped in a temporal paradox, the end.

Triangle was a solid movie
Spoiler Alert!!!!!!!
Yeah she was dead the whole time. The end scene were she had that accident should be considered or viewed as the first scene.

She as well as her son didn't survive that car crash. So death comes in a cab to pick her up & take her to the great beyond, but she asks death for one favour.... which was to go on the cruise with her friends with a promise that she'd be back, a promise she never upholds, so death kept her in a continuous loop for failing in her promise... There was a reference to all this on the ghost ship. I consider it a mind-fvck movie too.

Triangle-

Major Spoilers ahead!!

I had to go and read up on Sisyphus to understand the metaphor of the Ghost Ship. The long and short is Jess is dead, and I think she was condemned to the Aeolus because she was abusive to her autistic son. She is trying to come back because she wants another chance to be a good mother, especially after witnessing the abuse from the stand point of an outsider (presented when she watches from the window the second Jess abusing Tommy).

Like Sisyphus, she will keep doing the same thing over and over again for eternity. There are variations to the actions, but the outcome will remain the same: she will always return to the Ghost Ship to act out her punishment.

AWESOME, MINDFUCKING MOVIE!!!!

9.5/10

FUCCCCCK!!!!
