For a party that preached moral uprightness, I can't help but wonder if their kool-aid was the proper flavor. In selecting and vetting Sarah Palin, someone drank the purple kool-aid instead of the red one.

Eldee, WTF were they thinking?? You know though, in a prevailing atmosphere of controversial social lifestyles and bad behavior, the damage could be spinned and converted to a gain on her behalf. We shall see.

What damage? You mean once a preacher's child, even after listening to her father preach abstinence decides to walk her own path, the father is no longer qualified to preach abstinence? I really don't get it.  What is wrong with preaching moral uprightness here? Should we then abandon that because someone in our family decided not to follow our teachings? Should Mothers stop preaching against their kids taking drugs when one or more of their own kids become addicts? Are people who preach condom use suddenly hypocrites when they decide they should also take care of AIDS victims who got infected by not using condoms?

Look at the big picture. This is all not at the personal level any more, it is now at the party level - RNC vs DNC. Okay?

RNC runs its elections, whether at local or national level, on the sentiments of morality. The reason that evangelicals and Christian Coalition and Family Research Council are all aligned behind driving grassroot votes for republicans is because the party anointed itself through its social platforms as the party of christian values.

This is not christian value when a girl out of wedlock is pregnant. The damage is not in the household, the damage is a political one and a challenge to the Grand Ole Party.

What in the world are you talking about? What is not Christian value when a girl has a baby out of wedlock? I hope you are not under the delusion that this sort of thing does not happen in evangelical homes. Regardless of it being personal or public, it still do not make sense to claim that because her DAUGHTER got pregnant outside the house, evangelicals will not vote for her.

DO you know how many pregnant teenagers come from evangelical homes? Do you know how many pastors have had to deal with same? How many people do you think QUIT the church because the pastor’s child got pregnant and the pastor continued to preach against teenagers getting pregnant? What does this have to do with HYPOCRISY?

I mean do we need to lecture adults on what the word really means? A HYPOCRITE IS SOMEONE WHO DOES NOT PRACTISE WHAT HE/SHE PREACHES. Palin preaches abstinence and Pro-life. HER DAUGHTER chose not to pursue that path, and so that makes PALIN a hypocrite? In what world?

Again I ask, does a Mother become a HYPOCRITE for telling her kids and other kids to stay off drugs if her own child is a known druggie? Does she get stoned when she stands outside schools handing out prints to kids on how taking drugs is bad for them? Does this really mean she is a hypocrite?


In this particular case, Palin would be considered a hypocrite if she were asking her child to, say, get an abortion, but not because her child is pregnant. It is ridiculous and immature to think all people who preach for abstinence, but find themselves in similar situation as Palin currently does are hypocrites. Actually, I believe that is a stance made out of ignorance and arrogance.


It is really one thing to have issues with people who do not believe as you do but to make such an unintelligent conclusion only shows how ignorant and immature one is. Did Palin ASK her daughter to go get pregnant?
