Very possible

This is why Nigeria must introduce yearly project on design and development of weapons by our public/private universities and polytechnics.

Am sure if we start it, the money we spend importing one heli will be used to produce 3 state of the art helis.

Thanks

Where is d trainee pilot or wot should i call it cos DHQ claims it was a training exercise

DHQ PR is so poor....they are making people trust d words of this infidels more than d NA ..there is no harm in either keeping mute or juz giving accurate information

I wonder who carries out training exercise in a war zone

So @siriusblack does that mean that boko haram now ve d capacity to bring down a helicopter

Mr. Femi if the military top brass has decided to describe the downed helicopter as victim of mechanical failure during a training mission, so as not to make public bad news that may demoralize other flight crews who get airborne in the theater of war, then there is no need for we armchair observers to scold the powers that be for their information management during a full-scale war.

. Oga sirius God bless ! You know there was a time when u google pictures for nigeria army,navy and airforce the same pictures u get for over twenty years. And the situation is not like that for southafrican,egyptian,libyan e.t.c. And as a kid who as interest in military/technology stuffs,I got fed thinking nigeria army is dead due to the long miitary dictatorship long era. But as time will av it we had beegeagles blog and now this thread and other thread on nairaland"I saw some pictures dis morning on a page 26 n 27 on a military thread I was following on nairaland showing nigeria snipers with there styre riffles and well camouflaged" and another picture that made me amazed was a another mobile ground/satelite radar system" probably rolland systems I can't really identify it but I was surprised that we av such in our inventries even wikipedia does av it " which made me so much proud ! As for the mumu @quid go to the official page of nigeria army u will see enough "so to call classified pictures". Thanks for this kind of thred cos 30yrs to come dis gallant men will look back and be proud of such effort of "BIG SIRIUS" we prayed that nairaland will not loose data/crashed like the 1st thread. Jakumo:

Most modern attack helicopters are configured for a crew of two - the pilot in the back seat, and the weapons officer in the nose, so it is odd that a crew of 4 is mentioned in this initial report.

The hind helicopter has 2 spots in front, one for the pilot, one for the weapons officer.However,it is not a pure attack helicopter but a troop transporter as well.So you can add a door gunner while adding approx 7 extra fully kitted soldiers. So it is not surprising to hear that 4 people were in the helicopter.

The Second Coming

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it

Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

There are 3 remedies:

1) Simply ignore all his comments and meaningless quotes
2) MODs or whoever has access should start cleaning up all his bovine comments and contributions to preserve the sanity and sanctity of this thread
3) Last resort is to ban him totally and watch out for any subsequent moniker!
