passion007: Uburu

UBURU SALT LAKE, EBONYI STATE a natural salt deposit in lake form. It used to be business hub for merchants in the South East region then. A visit to even drink from the lake is as important as exploring further in the lake’s natural potentials that still question nature till date

The Daily champion's opening sentences in a 2002 news article:
"EVENTS will come and go, but history is indelible.

Remembering the Nigerian Civil war, I recall a community exists that saved the entire population from the ugly sickness of kwashiorkor. Kwashiorkor is gone but the saviour seems to have been forgotten."

Uburu salt lake was a savior during the Biafran War.
i've visited that salt lake cheesy

The only relationship is that Ebonyi south (Afikpo zone) and Abia north were both in old Imo state and they both greet "Jökwa". Although they share common boundary, I think their culture and dialect are wide apart. [

passion007: Ebonyi is recognised as having an total of 9 languages, all of which are actually Igbo dialects. They are: Afikpo, Mgbo, Izzi, Ezza, Ikwo Kukele, Legbo, Mbembe, Oringare.
Your list of dialects cannot be complete if you don't add 'Korri' spoken by the Orri people of Ntezi, Okpoto, Effium and Amuda. Thank you.
I'm proud to come from Ebonyi, Salt of the Nation.

I'm very elated with this post. Its quite unfortunate that despite this landmark achievements recorded by Ebonyians, the majority of other Igbo states see Ebonyi man as a ne'er-do-well. It baffles me especially when this discrimination is meted to an Ebonyian especially in the North here. Other tribes discriminate against the Igbos, but worst of all Igbos discriminate against Ebonyians.

I feel your pain man, but we're all one, no one is discriminating against anyone, we just like competing and by doing so it looks like some people is tryna pull others down but no, don't see it as discrimination but as challenge.

So true! I heard Ebonyians who died penniless are usually thrown into the evil forest or so, that's why lots of them engage in unhealthy activities inorder to make it by all means. Is it true? Could be one of the reasons for discrimination.
