@ JerryJJZ. The spirit of unbelievers that die go to the spirit world called hedis. Nobody has gone to hell-fire. Hell-fire is an event of destroying things once and for all, and the appointed date is on judgement day (Jesus with saints will execute that).

Bible says the things of the spirit are foolishness to carnal minds because they are spiritually discern.
For those who seek for truth and knoeledge, all this carry dual nature...the literal and the spiritual....the spiritual being more real than the literal....
spiritually speaking....death and hell are spirit beings..demons....paul made it clear that sin is the first enemy and death is the last enemy.
Jesus triumph over sin n death on the cross and in the grave by ressurection respectively.
death literaly is a state where mortal ceased to live and man is no more part of these physical world. while hell is a place as rightly said before by others.
But note that lake of fire is part of Gods kingdom and its the place for eternal pubishment for satan..demons n fallen angels with everyone that refuse Christ...sinners...unbelievers.
lake of fire came forth from God as a result of His anger against Sin.
You never want to know how it will be like a sinner in the hand of an angry God
repent today...
God bless you real good

Hell is the common grave of man. It was said hell would be thrown into the lake of fire, which means lake of fire means total destruction. Hell been thrown into the lake of fire signfies that there will be no more death and when there is no more death grave won't exist anymore

This is a very good question and I will invite you to listen to a 3 part message that I listened to recently about this very topic. I have had some thoughts about this, however this 3 part message crystalises alot of the truths that I had been chewing on in my mind concerning this topic
1, http://bethtikkun.com/our-living-god-the-savior-of-all/
2, http://bethtikkun.com/our-living-god-the-savior-of-all-part-2/
3, http://bethtikkun.com/our-living-god-the-savior-of-all-part-3/

"The Lake of fire" is a "container' for the very essence of God. Fire in the bible, is usually a reference to the essence of God. A lake usually has 2 sources, it is either fed from a spring or from a river. The source of the Lake of fire is the very throne of God: Daniel 7:10, Heb 12:29
The Lake of fire is a place where people will be thrown in after the final judgement Daniel 7:10;Revelation 20:12 the aim will be to bring them into direct contact with the very essence of God, for a period of time determined by God, so that those things that cannot withstand the fire in their souls will be burnt up, they will be refined, the goal is to eventually redeem them. God will not leave people in fire "forever and ever" it is inconsistent with his character. Infact there is no word for "forever and ever" like we know it, in hebrew, the word forever (olam) is either translated "ages" or "ages of ages".

The word "hell" is not even in the bible. The concept of "hell" as many know it, is from greek mythology. The word translated "hell" is actually ("sheol"-hebrew) = ("hades"-greek) OR (hinnom-hebrew)=(gehenna-greek)
Sheol is a holding place for both the righteous and unrighteous dead. From the story of Lazarus and the rich man, it appears that the"other side" of Sheol, for the unrighteous dead, is gehenna which is the temporary place of judgement for the unrighteous dead until the time of the final judgement when they will be transferred to the lake of fire after they have been convicted. Think of Jail (designed to hold individuals awaiting trial or a serving short sentences) and prison (designed to hold individuals convicted of crimes)
Remember the Lord says in Isaiah 45:7: I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.
The one who created it, has a plan to deal with it. Evil does not exist apart from God who created it and He has a plan to have good overcome evil at the end. It's a big topic, hope this gets you rolling in the right direction!

Yes, as a metaphor. But may mean the fallen angel in charge of hell itself.

It seems 'death' is 'male' and 'hell' is 'female'; husband and wife. Both are vitally linked. Hell is like a womb, an enclosure of some sort. Everyone is conceived and born in spiritual death and kept like spermatozoa in the testes of Mr. Death. Unsaved people at physical death are 'ejaculated' into the 'womb' of hell.

Just some imaginative thinking!!!

nice creativity... Tnx
