not just the money, think of how long it will take u to get there and the hustle of getting there

Ooasis:
kindly take time to read through and Pardon my errors pls.

I found myself in a situation where I need an advice.
I have a job on the mainland which pays 50k and I spend no transport at all. I started working there three months after my youth service with 45k, I wasn't satisfied with the job so I started searching for another, it(new job) wasn't coming so I decided to change my mindset and continue this for a while, after my grudges complaints to which the organization says they are not satisfied with my output and that they even wanted to lay me off, (which I knw is just gimmicks as I knw that I am there best staff) I got a raise to 50k after almost a year.
Why I don't like the job.
1. No productivity for a while now, not much jobs bringing in cash for the organization and I ain't happy doing nothing and earning at month end. I have talked to them about how to improve but they seem to want to move at there pace.
2. After the we want to lay you off saga, I feel like I really need to take my exit while the ovation is still loud.
3. I believe I need to change environment and meet new people, since here isn't interesting anymore, the workplace is not appalling and I am tired of the petty shits
4. The 50k salary will always make future job bargain allow recruiters look down on me and offer ridiculous pay.

I got a new job on the island 70k and I will be spending transport of 15k.
New environment, nice work environment and high career prospect cos it's an international organization with new challenges.

Cons
Thinking of traffic, the not to expectation salary and fear of uncertainty, kindly advice me what you think I should do.

Thanks, you may just have saved a life.

Bros while I believe everyone working always aspire to get a better pay, I would advice you to be careful and look before you leap. International organisation can be a pain in the ass.

It all depends on your goal in life. But I tell you, if you sell yourself short now, you will keep selling yourself short. Dont look at the stress. Dont think short time. take the whole picture into consideration. Pray Also

Thanks @ habisoye, I am looking forward to getting lift also, the uncertainty ain't a big deal I am a guy like you said. But the name of the organization I may not be able to publish due to certain reasons, but it's a group and I get to be the inventory and maintenance personnel. Thanks anyway.
@ pweetymoi1 thanks for the encouragement.
Yemz213 thanks for your contribution.

Inventory work suggest that you will be working in a storeroom or warehouse sort of. It can be a very stimulating job when u start out and opens your mind to aspects of the economy that you never paid attention to. However after the initial learning curve you can get stuck in a rut just pushing inventory reports or doing mundane stuff like cycle counts or wall-to-wall counts. If u decide to take the job I strongly suggest u start a professional program in supply chain management specialising in materials or inventory management. You broaden your career prospects that way

Guy u may not be putting much as ur current employer said but i see u shooting for something big which is good to my judgement. On that note, move to the next level for the future is bright. The new job is not just about change in pay package but it will expose u to more knowledge, opportunities, prestige, self confidence etc. Congrats on your new job.

You obviously have made up ur mind on what to do reading through this piece....

My take: from what u said it appears ur current place of work isnt that healthy business wise coupled with the fact that career growth is limited then it is à no brainer to move to d new Job.

Don't even think twice, choose the Island. The last time I checked the standard of living there is high which means you'll meet people with great mind, aspirations and taste.

Quit the first job, it holds no future for you, the second job may be stressful but is better off the first in terms of circumstances.
