I think it was colonialism by both British and the Portuguese the stemmed the tide of jihad. Looking at history it's clear that Yoruba only suffered jihad but never ended it by their might. You should be thankful to the British.

You look at the trends of things then and you would know that the Fulani knew how powerful the yorubas were and Afonja made a very grave mistake in using the Hausa and Fulani slaves in Yorubaland to fight his war against Alaafin.You just go and read the history. What you should say is if it were not for the British,we would have run over the Hausa/Fulani and go deep into the North to conquer them.

From the Half Year report of Internally Generated Revenue of States in Nigeria by Budget IT, Ogun State with IGR of N42.52billion is more than the 5 South Eastern States with combined total of N35.8billion. We know that Ogun State has tremendous advantages of being close to Lagos, But I think the States in the East need to do more.
