Why Does Bad News Spread Faster Than Good News? by Donbrig: 7:33pm On Sep 07, 2015
It is really baffling how bad news seems to spread like wild fire. It seems most humans now find it more exciting spreading bad news, and have no interest in good news. Not quite long in United States, some group of Christians assembled to form a special TV station dedicated only to good news. But few months later, the station was closed down because most Americans had no interest in listening to good news all the time. And this is now a very troubling trend in Nigeria.

The two boils down to HATE and ENVY.

If bad things happen, foes will spread it faster because they enjoy the downfall and that is called (HATE) but if good things happen, same foes will refused to spread the good news about you and keep it to themselves because they hate to hear your success stories and that is called (ENVY).

well, I think the reason is not far fetched.
If the news is good, then it is somehow expected and does not generate much passion/energy/excitement. Because "their is nothing to correct"
But if it is bad, we are outraged and a lot of passion go along with it. You see people expending energy trying to correct the bad situation.
So typically, bad news sells. Its good for media. Imagine how many newspaper will sell if the headline is some real treat from aliens.
Conversely, imagine how broke newshouses will be if they only carry child births grin grin
