Are you kidding me!!?? All this protocol, procedures and eternal stress just to travel with a personal car across border Sis do you really think it’s worth the adventure driving in your personal car when you could just seat comfortably while those who have it has their normal routine route do the job joining the normal transportation means

I like driving for stress relief. Did a few cross countries overseas and watch a biker group that does stuff like this all the time. I want to believe that the country is not quite so bad.

Uber all the way and I have a N100k net as yesterday with a 4day work during the week.
You sure say saka no follow?
That net you claim is not the real net.

Your real net is after fuel, feeding, call card, subscription fee, toll fee, weekly balancing for rental/HP, minor repair and miscellaneous deductions. So after all of these deductions then come back and tell us your real net.

That I agree with you 100% .. Most partners are not hands on.. Most can't even maintain their own car ,let alone cars for uber.. A lot of these partners just want the driver to start money right away... And that why a lot of them give up or by stay by the fence...

Drivers have their own fault too .. First of all I maintain all my cars . The maintainence is 100% done by me either small or big .. So I had one driver ,that drives for me . The first few weeks things were ok and than out of no where he was constantly going to my mechanic.. It now became a situation that we were fixing the same issue over and over again.. So my mechanic called me and he Oga , can you give me permission to talk to the driver .. I said why , he said this your driver dey use this motor enter bad road too much .. He said even if na highlander self go get this issue coz the way the driver dey drive .. So he spoke to the driver . And I spoke to the driver, and the driver stated that uber blocked him . And for him to meet up ,he had to do taxify.. And he can't reject request other wise he will not meet.. So after that incident he has been doing ok .. And also he sign up for Ocar.
Another driver that I met here early Feb . I gave him the car in good condition. He test drove the car to make sure no issues at all . He came back happy and I introduced him to my mechanic.. My mechanic address his concerns and he fix them.. So first day on the Job, driver called and said somebody hit him . And that he will take the car to my mechanic. Since he is aware that I do 100% of repairs and maintenance.. I said no and he should drive the car home. When I looked at the car ,you can tell he was at fault.. So I told him he can go home and I will him later. It cost me 60k naira to fix the car , so driver started calling me and mechanic. He wanted to know when the car will be ready. I just ignored him and he called my mechanic tired. Until he finally got the picture.. I was so upset and angry . And he came back on nairaland looking for rental . I just kept shut and I figure whoever gives him car will regret it .. He was on nairaland for months looking for a car ..

My point is that we have to hold partners and drivers to a standard.. We can't just blame partners all the time . Drivers too need to be held accountable too .

I keep wondering how u make money in dis uber biz

There it goes again, 32,800 naira fined paid to the airport suckers. Guys, make sure you learn the airport rules b4 going there, they seems to have endless rules to keep milking drivers, glaringly, they don't want uber or bolt in that vicinity, cos it's spoiling business for the local drivers assigned there. Was there to pick up a bossy driver, got to a spot where every car is parked line up,slow moving,so no space to move ahead faster, spot the rider with a grown up son (15/16 yrs), told her the boot is open, put ur ' just' two luggage in there, she said, oga pls come down and do ur work, was like OK,let me quickly help out since the mother n son considered themselves handicap, immediately I step out , my tyre was clamped. What was my offence,? part of my car was on the zebra cross line, bossy rider begged with me for like 5 mint, having realized it was her fault. Next is oga I'm tired, handed me 2k, pls sort your self then disappeared with her son, left to clean the shit alone, begged, pleaded, all fell on deaf ears, they make jest of me,saying the begging department is closed, young guys not up to my age, gosh,I've seen shit in this my adventures driving. They say, I will pay 2500 naira each day my car sleep there, n my tyres will be deflated in few minutes if I don't pay on time, additional 1k to be paid if tyres get deflated, angrily pay then left shattered. I'm just in this job barely 3 weeks so don't know much abt the airport rules to outlines here, but the gurus in this line should help list the possible airport rules for the newbies so not to fall victims, cos I saw two more drivers fell victims b4 I left there that night. You can tell your story to the marines Sir! Any driver that listens to this your advise is at serious risk already. Am a realist and I choose not to be cowed into submission by any bagger rider.

What the likes of you and Dru23 don't understand is that we are all different! It all boils down to temperament. I repeat, IT ALL BOILS DOWN TO TEMPERAMENT. Just as our finger prints are unique, so is our temperament. You don't expect every human being to react same way to similar situations. That same I AM SORRY MA from driver A can become THUNDER FAYA U with driver B.

There are those you will never see react no matter what you throw at them. They are so thick skinned and mean.

But there are people like me who react energy for energy. I GIVE POSITIVE ENERGY FOR POSITIVE ENERGY. I ALSO GIVE DARK ENERGY FOR DARK ENERGY. Thats my principle of survival. I will use 3 different stories of my experience in Uber to illustrate.

Experience 1 (Gbam Gbam Gbam Gbam Gbam Gbam Gbam Gbam)

Me: Hello Ma. Good afternoon. You requested for Bolt. Is this address correct and where are you heading to?

Rider: What kind of stuppid questions are these? Oga please hurry because am late. I don't have time to answer nonsense.

Me: Madam, begin to trek to your destination immediately. Because if you enter my car, sorry is your name.

The woman fear cancel immediately. undecided undecided undecided

Experience 2 (Tulululum Tulululum Tulululum Tulululum)

Me: Hello Ma. You requested for Uber. Am at Lateef Jakande. I want to confirm your address is 100001 Acme road.

Rider: Why are you not on your way yet? Oga am tired of these nonsense from you drivers. Am very late for church. 2 drivers have cancelled on me and I will be very angry with you if you cancel.

Me: Madam is that a threat? Hope you know this is my car right and am not your personal driver? You must behave well mannered if you want this ride to happen. Be courteous of your next words because you lack courtesy.

Rider: You must be very stuppid for implying I lack manners.

Me: Madam THUNDER FAYA You. Nkita lachagi gi anya dia angry angry angry

I cancelled and blocked her line with immediate effect.

Experience 3 (Tulululum Tulululum Tulululum Tulululum)

Me: Hello Madam. Good afternoon. You requested for Uber. Are you at 51b blah blah blah Lekky county homes and where are you heading to

Rider: Hello sir. Good afternoon. Please am heading just close by to buy food. Please don't cancel on me as many drivers have cancelled. Am really hungry. Please will you come?

Me: Am on my way ma.

After Trip, Uber said I should collect 330. Seems she is on small bonus. Madam gave me 400. I told her to keep it coz I wanted her to eat more.

Its my car after all and I can decide who to give free ride or not. undecided undecided undecided

MORAL OF STORY

Ehailing in Nigeria is more of survival. You can be nice and die there being nice. Nobody really gives a fucck about you in this country especially in a cosmopolitan city like Lagos where everybody is mad and angry.

Nigerians are highly exploitative. Most of them that are nice to you is because they are already scheming on how to use you for one ulterior motive or the other. You mentioned he was asking the driver if he was married. What has that question got to do with anything?

In fact to me, that driver is very stuppid for entering the woman's house after the job. What if she accuse him of rape? What if she is a human parts dealer or a drug trafficker? You mentioned Anambra. Am from Ananmbra and am not trying to stereotype. But what if that woman was already seeing the young man as a conduit for drugs to Indonesia or Thailand? So many what ifs!

As far as am concerned, my work with you ends immediately I drop you. Infact, I clear call log after every trip to avoid temptation of calling you back or "keeping in touch".

In summary sir, Being nice in the face of obvious hostility can cost you your life in Lagos or elsewhere in Nigeria. This is not Europe. Things can escalate pretty quickly if you don't act smart.

By the way if I may ask, Dru23 that has been saying things about being enduring and humble in the Service industry in order to become a boss... What has he achieved with his live aside retailing Mobil oil and arguing with people on Nairaland?

No sane human being will put his hand into fire with the hope that it will not burn.

So we should accept to be treated as trash because it could be rewarding?? Because those who throw 'shiits' at us could turn out to be our helpers? Nonsense! There are countless upon countless of testimonies here of riders who have rewarded drivers here without daunting their " DIGNITY ".
If you like be dangote if you respect me i will respect you. I you don't respect me i will treat you accordingly.

I once asked a woman who was commanding and been hostile towards me to get out of my vehicle in a polite manner. She was shocked and said in an apologetic tone that she doesnt know uber drivers gets angry. She called me later on and ask me about something and spoke to me very politely and i responded amicably. What does that tells you? She will stop to treat other drivers as garbage

We are all humans and deserve to be treated as such irrespective of who you are. Nobody should accept to be abuse verbally or otherwise all in name of " he or she will help me"

I have met people who have helped me. I have also helped people too in this hustle and we both treated each other nicely right from the outset.

And as for the "Mega offline trips" what matters is your apperance, state of your car, year of your car and model of your car. Thats all that matters. I know of someone who uses RX 330 Lexus SUV here in Benin. Corolla or Camry doesn't competes with him in terms of earnings. Most of his works comes offline and he is a no Nonsense Man

@bold u should have canceled & left.
Drivers should learn to follow their instinct, u must not carry every rider. Once a situation turns out to be threatening & the rider is not cooperating with u, it is best u leave. So u don't end up paying 20k fine for 500 naira trip.

In any airport, you do not leave the driver's seat when your car is not properly parked.

If you knew and had the patience to explain yo your client, you could give them the option of allowing you find a spot in the parking lot then come help them with their luggage, since they are "disabled".

In addition, it’s an airport trip, if you cancel without having left the airport radius, you’d still be next in line.

The service industry is not for everyone, that is why most fail and few succeed .. Uber is a service business, you come across both good and bad people . The most important thing is as long as the good riders or customers, out weight the bad ones..

Rider told you to come down and do your job And that your job is coming to help her put her loggage inside the car.... One gey asked nicely that I help her put her loggage in the car, and I came out to help, when I came out and saw its a small bag. Naxo I ask her say "u mean u can't carry this small bag" I leave her there enter my car, nobody told her to carry it. No time for ass licking.... Meanwhile, I'm sorry u had to learn the hard way.

Lol, should I prostrate cause I am in need of a car... Make I burst your bubble I get calls almost everyday but I test drive them and always have a reason not to be satisfied because it's always Naija used. Toks is what am looking for and I am always searching. And if I may ask Bro, am I rude? I am not oo. I get serious when asking for a car and also i joke when I am replying to a comment or post. This are 2different times... So don't get it twisted... I am not being desperate, so I won't fall into what others fell into in the hands of mechanic... That's the worst thing that can happen to anyone on HP. I do used my dad's Honda pilot for the hustle once in a while.
Thanks for the observation though, much appreciated...

My brother I fearoooo. Agor from Epe is a serious journey.
I’m telling you bros, it’s like traveling from Eket in Akwa in A’Ibom to Garrison in Ph.

Just imagine say na dia ur former madam dey live even @calabardick won’t give you the help he gave u that day. So brother choose wisely don’t give in to pressure and the.ln make a wrong decision just like wat happened to me if u read my story you’d noticed everything boiled some to impatience else I would have gotten a partner close by instead of that far and that has now made me jobless without a car even at this period of the festive. My account is just there idle.

But in all I believe all things workout for good because I love God.

So be patient my guy better one around ur area go come soon and it will be the exalt thing you’d always wanted just like I’ve have now.

You sure say saka no follow?
That net you claim is not the real net.

Your real net is after fuel, feeding, call card, subscription fee, toll fee, weekly balancing for rental/HP, minor repair and miscellaneous deductions. So after all of these deductions then come back and tell us your real net.

My broda tell them

Like some folks DT quote gross earnings as Net.

Don't go too far. Give him a breather.

Your Net = Gross income - Total Fuel cost used.

They will also add tolls as part of earnings, something you already gave LCC.

Fuel Nko, cos fuel is a cost element you expend 'going forward'.

I.e. if you buy fuel of #5,000 and when you are about to top up. The uber dashbiard says #19000.

Your net @ DT point is #14k

DTS how someone mentioned he did 13 trips with fuel of #2,500. How can that be?

In Lagos!

God bless u all. Be careful of riders that ask you to go extra miles to please them, when the burble burst, they will only tell u bye bye, clean ur shit up.

Sorry bro.

Read about XGhost post on "Airport"
Its a precis of all dos n don't. I think d t
Post shd b in September.

Personally, I don't like airport pick ups.
The riders don't seem to realise that the ground rules there have set them up as "bait"

I don't carry all riders.

Like d female rider DT went to stand @ CMS car park waiting for pick up yesterday. Of all places to stand, its where activity is non stop DT where you chose to stand.

I told her to cancel after endlessly trying to find a spot to stop.
