one of the participants of the First coup. I got to know more about him after reading "How we Struck" by a fellow coup plotter, Wale Ademoyega.

A dynamic man, going by what i have read about him. He even joined Biafran side during the Biafra war, where he was finally killed. By who?

Your guess is as good as mine, OJUKWU

So you yorubas no longer blame him for killing other region's leaders and sparing Igbo leaders because you want to spite Ojukwu? Did you also read that he and Biafran Col. Banjo made a deal with Awo and Gowon en route to lagos at ore and retreated back to Enugu to go and overthrow Ojukwu? Why didn't Ojukwu kill Ademoyega too?

Yorubas can be shamelessly hypocritical and i'm trying to find out why?

Emmanuel Arinze Ifeajuna (1935–25 September 1967) was a Nigerian army major and high jumper. He was the first Black African to win a gold medal at an international sports event when he won at the 1954 British Empire and Commonwealth Games. His winning mark and personal best of 6 ft 8 in (2.03 m) was a games record and a British Empire record at the time.

Ifeajuna was executed by Ojukwu. Though Ifeajuna is not a good guy. He killed many people in the build up to the famous "igbo coupe". He killed Tafawa balewa and abandoned his body on the road.

These guys are bloody. None of them can be my hero.

complete his story.
tell d kids on nairaland what killed him
An Igbo from Onitsha, he was a science graduate University College of Ibadan and became involved in politics, later joining the military. He rose to the position of Major and was a conspirator and participant in the failed 1966 Nigerian coup d'état. He later returned to action in the Nigerian Civil War, fighting for Biafra, but was executed following a plot to agree a ceasefire with Nigeria and overthrow Emeka Ojukwu.

I disagree with you. From the drawing we can see it is about Olympics and the trophy is well placed beside the man doing a high jump. It cannot be the man you just stated.

I think it is a drawing of any typical athlete. He is not tagged as anyone and face is not concentrated on.

If you are so sure then give a good source to back it up
It will definitely be difficult to have a good source outside newspaper sources.Apex Mill the producers of the exercise book will never agree. While the Op could be sued by Apex Mill for generating a post capable of instigating a court case for royalties in millions of sold copies of the exercise book ,your comment could also be a perfect defense by any lawyer trying to prevent the Ifeajuna family from reaping from the profits or 'royalties' from the exercise book.My point :It was the era Nigerian high jumpers(Nafiu Osagie and co) did well at the commonwealth and Olympics and from the 1950s to the 70s Ifeajuna epitomized that unique performance.Apex Mill will never agree it was Ifeajuna for reasons of litigation but it is very clear that Ifeajuna was the 'spirit' of the high jump revolution back then.He could as well 'claim' the honour.

I heard the account that Ojukwu sent him to conquer South West but he returned to Biafra when he met stiff resistance. Then, Ojukwu gave the order that he should be executed along his comrades. But when the time came for Ojukwu himself to die for his course, he proved it to the whole world that he was a Super Coward by escaping from the country in woman skirt and gown.

Ojukwu had to execute Ifeajuna, Banjo and others because of their ambition. They were sent to liberate the mid western region but they their mind on dodan barracks in lagos. They wanted to overthrow gowon and force Biafra to surrender. That's why Biafran forces came as far as Ore.

Ifeajuna was a great personality but inordinately ambitious.
