The system is being used to eat up itself. MEND has no weapons or army. But they have a just cause.

How can MEND not have weapons? How do you blow up a jetty and kill 9 individuals without weapons?

Who was being trained and held in the Camp 5 run by Tompolo? Kindergarten students?

Of course they have weapons - what will be termed as an 'army' is open to interpretation, since they are not a sovereign state they might not be able to use that designation. The fact remains that they have an armed force that is being used to perpetrate these attacks.

It may not possess a unified command structure, but it does work quite effectively in terms of wreaking havoc on oil infrastructure in Nigeria.

Innocent until proven guilty, if we believe in democracy then we have to respect that maxim.

Duke is there for putting Cross River on the map and daring to dream that Nigeria can have  a rival to Dubai.

Ibori is on my list for  bringing peace to Warri during the inter ethnic conflicts of the 1990's ( some of you are probably too young to remember)

Be truthful to yourself if you were compiling a first eleven of looters in this country through military and civilian times, these guys will not appear on the substitutes bench.

You may not know our history but we do.

Jaja of Opobo, King Dappa Pepple (Perekule) of Bonny, leaders and masses of the brave city-state of Nembe, King Ossai of Aboh, Nana Olomu and Alfred Rewane of Itsekiri, King Oghwe, Oshue, Mukoro Mowoe, Festus Okotie-Eboh, Samuel Mariere and Thompson Salubi of Urhobo, Udo Udoma of Ibibio, Dr. Okoi Arikpo of Ogoja, Ambakederemo and Wenike Briggs of Ijaw, Dennis Osadebay of Asaba, Oba Ovonramwen, Oba Akenzua II and Humphrey Omo-Osagie of Benin, Michael Imoudu of Ora, Oba Momodu of Auchi and Anthony Enahoro of Esan (Ishan), Adaka Boro, Ken Saro- Wiwa, Ibru, Donald Duke and Onanefe Ibori (for championing resource control) and many more.

The struggle continues.

Please, please----using "resource control" and Ibori in the same sentence would be well suited for a comedy line by Basket mouth or one of the notable comedians. grin grin grin

Don't ever say that again before you are made a laughing stock.

Why can't we re-draw the map of this Nigeria. Why is it difficult for our useless leaders to see where this is heading to.
Until UN send their peace keeping force we will not realise the mess we are in for many years.

It's Lagos this week, maybe Otta next week and ABJ and Kano or KD the week after next. Must we wait for them to distroy all b4 we grant them what they want.
If they strike any govt landmark in the north those almajiris will finish any humanbeing from South in the North. Then it turn to another nasty war.

MEND gives weapons to the willing. The system is being used to counter the system.

Ol' boy, you are on your own there. . . . perhaps your major motivating factor is tribe cos I see no reason why Ibori in particular shouldn't be publicly lynched. . . . lets not bring tribal sentiments into issues of justice. . . . I doubt Ibori should be lauded for quenching violence between Ijaws and Itsekiris. . . . infact MEND was more than responsible for that. . . besides, it is suicidal for Ibori as an Itsekiri to stoke up tensions against an infinitely better-armed Ijaw group. . . . .lets keep tainted politicians out of our discourse. . . .

These folks should be stopped.
Re: MEND Attacks Lagos by debosky(m): 10:18pm On Jul 14, 2009
Let MEND strike in Abuja and elsewhere if possible - the Northern elements who are acting as if they are insulated from the problem need to feel the heat as well.

This will only get messier if the government fails to do what is necessary NOW.

Yar'adua has a BIG CHANCE to salvage his lame-duck presidency by laying the foundations of a truly equitable Nigeria. . . . time will tell if he will rise to the challenge or fail.

Wetin u feel here

Oodua group condemns attack

Similarly, the Coalition of Oodua self- determination Group, COSEG, has also described it as an unacceptable act capable of creating unnecessary tension across the country.

This was disclosed yesterday in Lagos by the Coalition of Oodua Self-Determination Groups (COSEG) in a release signed by its Director of Media and Publicity, Comrade Gbenga Soloki, stressing that the development portends danger to the existing collaboration between the people of the South-West and their Niger Delta counterparts.

According to COSEG, “while we understand the rights of the Niger Delta to self-determination, which we have always defended, we believe they should realise that their struggle for self-determination exists within geographical and cultural boundaries, and to that extent, we don’t expect them to take actions that will infringe on the territory and interest of the Yoruba people, talk less of their commercial nerve centre, Lagos”

The chicken or the egg, who's first? No matter how you cut and slice it, we always come back to the primodium---tribe. The issue of national assets was formulated by people from tribes who sought to gain temporary upper-hand on the Igbos, Ijaws, Ibibios, Edo, Efiks of the east. That's what we're talking about here. The federal land policy, the revenue allocation policies are simply smoke coming from the main fire. Nigeria is too scare to look the fire on the face.

I guess the Federal Legislature building was also designed to gain an upper hand on the East, as well as the Customs Service and the Police as National bodies.

I guess we also chose a National Flag and got independence as a country simply to gain upper hand over the East. In fact, the entire purpose of Nigeria is to gain upper hand over the East!!

You are so stuck in your warped theories you can't see wood for trees.

A pipeline supplying fuel to the South East and South West was designed to gain upper hand on the East as well.

Heck the name Nigeria was chosen so as to overtake the East!! Land Use policy is something invented by the government against the East! After all, it only affects them and benefits the other regions solely!!

Your intelligence is way of the charts - honestly it is.

Ibori's stealing is to give other regions advantage over the east, so was Chimaroke's stealing and Andy Uba's stealing - of course it is!

You're either a big joke or the most confused person I have met in a long time

Let them come back home. The Northerners will find them come east to buy what ever they need and the igbos are trading on.
This Mend action could be a blessing in disguise.

Yes b4 this injustice will be corrected we all must suffer the inaction of the FG otherwise it will look like ASUU strike that is monthly. If they did not achieve anything this time they will live to suffer the after effect so let them carry on.
We want Regional Govt or Sovereign Nations.

Isn't the problem all down to the 'primodium' of tribe? So corruption is inevitably down to it as well! Tribes!  undecided

Some of you will force the issue of global warming and climate change into a tribal box if it is possible.  sad

presido1 , there can not be niger delta or biafra. i am telling. i can tell you what is possible and what is not. something are not possible. biafra was not possible and they told ojukwu. and i am not telling niger delta is not possible , they would just kill alot of you. we have to look at what is possible. there is no need wasting out time for what is not possible.

when you look at call for biafra or niger delta countries , this calls are not possible or difficult because of problem even biafra faced in the international communities during the civil war.

1. Getting international recognition is one difficult that would be faced. less than 10 countries recoginzed biafra. But when it comes to Benin republic , we already have over 200 countries which recorgnized Benin republic.

2. Passport. Biafra passport is worthless in the international communities, immigration would arrest you, but the Republic of Benin passport is recorgnied all over the world.

3. The capital of the Republic of Benin is a Yorubas town. Port Novo, so we do not have any problem with administration.

4. Biafra currency was worthless in the international communities. Noone wanted to accept biafra currency. Benin republic currency is used in 14 countries in west africa.

5. Weapon or military supply, Biafra found it hard to buy weapon from the international community. Benin republic can get weapon and military supply from any countries in the world.

6. Embassy: Biafra embassy were not allowed in some countries. Benin republic embassy are accepted in 200 countries in the world.

7. United Nation: Biafra found it difficult to have a seat at the united nation, Benin republic already have a seat in the United nation.

So you can see why MEND is trying to take over Yorubaland, for seperation, they are sending signal to any politician or God father who thinks he is god in Yorubaland that he think he would stop the Yorubas, edo, delta and bayelsa state join the republic of Benin.

You see the call for Odua, biafra or Niger delta would face too many problem. That is why joining the republic of Benin is the only possible option. Even the capital of Benin republic is a Yoruba city with a Yoruba king (oba). This is the only option. This is what lawyer who have worked on files with the united nation have told me. Unification is 100% possible.

This thread is about MEND you nincompoop
please someone should bind this man with fresh cords
