Pls guys, I turned on the guest account of my system, when I switch on the system, and click on guest, it loads and don't get to desktop. But when I click on admin and input the password, it will load to desktop. Pls help me on how to make guest account load to desktop.

Can someone help me out on this? I have an office at Jikwoyi Abuja with 8 computers connected to a shared network. I use MTN, Multilinks and Etisalat as my ISPs. In the past 3 weeks, I noticed that each time I connect to Multilinks, though it will be shared, other systems will not brows except the system it's connected and shared on, but if I connect any other network (MTN/Etisalat), they will all be browsing. i think your need to check your MTN configuration

I had on many occasions uninstalled both the MTN and Etisalat modems from the system but it still doesn't work. I had also tried the Multilinks on another system but all to no avail. The point here is that I suspect the error could be from Multilinks mast or base station within my area here as I have been using the multilinks since last year 2010. I also have a neighbor that's complaining of the same issue here.

Somebody should pls help me solve my problem above.

i suggest you use the disk installation to repair

let it run as if you want to do a fresh installation then when it ask to install choose repair mode

What do you mean by unable?

do you mean when rip using windows media player ? if thats what you mean then you need to go to windows media player settings and change it to mp3


why do you want to format the flash drive and tells what you do when go through process of foramtting

what counts

is that RAM compatible with your motherboard as said by the motherboard manufacturer

In addition you can restart laptop kep pressing F10 for Bios setup utility
look for diagnostics and run hard drive self test (make sure charger is connected)

Ram depends on the motherboard not cpu, if both the celeron and pentium cpu will fit into the same motherboard then they will work with the same ram

you can check online prices at gafunk: gafunk.com, chukspee: chukspee.com, mojoy computers: mojoyicl.com though i must warn you that the prices listed may be out of date but that should give you an idea of the price of things

This is quite urgent.

My laptop- HP Pavilion DV2, sometimes back had the problem of detecting USB flash stick.

So for over 3months I've not been able to use flash drives. I've re-installed all drivers and nothing seems to be working.

Pls,anybody an idea of what can be done?

did you re-install the driver from the manufacturer website ? and also the driver being your model

i hv a dell d800 intel pentium M, which operating system is the best for it, window vista or windows 7.

Having carried out our colleague instructions, here's your next diagnostics
in narrowing the cause. I take this to be windows Vista or 7 and that was
selected on the hp website during the drivers download.

Hold down the Microsoft logo which looks like a flag next to ALT on your keybaord

and hold letter R both at the same time a box would pop up type in devmgmt.msc

press enter to continue and look for universal serial bus controller

Any yellow sign or code number ?

When a USB device is plugged in do you get a sound or a malfunction message?

Do you have a USB mouse or keyboard that you can plug in to see if USB is truly dead?

Make sure your windows is up to date by installing windows update


If no joy visit microsoft auto fix to resolve the issue

However, anytime I plug a USB device, I get an alert like " USB device not recognized- one of the USB devices attached to this computer has mal-funtioned and Windows does not recognize it.".

But then, an engineer friend told me its a circuit that has to be changed. Can this be? Cause, I've not been able to access the functionality of the PC in awhile.

Moreso, the window vista just stopped working saying I should insert a serial number of something.

Now I can't even install a new operating system cos I use an external DVD-rom which requires a USB port to connect.

What's the outcome from the link I posted in my last message ?

Have you try other usb devices such as mouse or a pen drive ?

From the evident that I gathered your USB hardware device is working

but have problems detecting usb devices. try other usb devices and lookout

for the malfunction message. if you do click start like you previously did to bring

up the run box type in devmgmt.msc look for universal serial bus controller

click the + sign and right click each and every item on the list and click uninstall

restart your laptop then test and see if problem is solved. if no joy check HP

website for latest update. Hp have a built in windows reinstall programme no disk

is required. to do this restart laptop by pressing F10 start recovery message will appear.

This will not happen if your laptop was installed or reinstalled by cd dvd disk.
