The pavilion g6 is ok, In lagos, you can get it around 85k, a config of 2.5Ghz core i3 processor, 4gb ram and 500gb hdd.

The graphics card is intel gma hd, not too good for serious gaming, you may be stuck with games of 2 to 3yrs ago.

apps? which kinda apps? once its not a high graphics comsuming app, no wahala.

For serious gaming, u'll need rigs with dedicated graphics cards Nividia or Amd. Them this sys cost nothing less than 140k.

what version of windows do u operate on?
You prolly myt av unchecked/uninstalled a windows feature.
However, click on start, go to 'control panel', click on 'programs', then click on' turn windows feature on or off'. Scroll tru and make sure 'Windows search' is checked.

Also, opening files or saving files takes forever now. Laptop came with 750gb HDD(Toshiba Based HDD) and 6gb Ram(core i5).I was using Norton Internet AV 2013 bought from amazon, and when problem started, I formatted hard drive, installed AVG internet AV 2013 from a friend and yet problem persists.also, I have to open my word documents like thrice before it can successfully open. I have only used 120gb space out of the 750gb hdd. Will appreciate any assistance as I work a lot on the move!

^ Have you tried out a different ram on it? if not, i think you should.

This is a problem with windows 8, there is no option to set connections to metered on Ethernet connections only on WiFi and Mobile broadband networks.

if you are on WiFi navigate to connection, right click on your connection and select set as metered, that will help you limit unnessary updates and online syncing which suck your data.

So advice is, open up task manager and monitor the network part of it, you will discover which app is sucking the data, then you will disable it.

WINDOWS 8 was made to access full internet for proper and full access to it's features.

and you can monitor which app is scuking your data on task manger

first about not able to connect to wireless network: is the wireless network an open one? if its open and you cant connect try to update your wireless driver and also check your connection properties, click on networking, click on internet protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4) then click properties below it should be configured to Obtain an IP address automatically bot on IP and DNS.

secondly your modem: okay what you should do is, goto options on the modem interface, goto to network and network type, select WCDMA preferred and not WCDMA only
