Goodday tech gurus, am using a Dell Inspiron N5040 window 7 home premium 64bit OS. I took my laptop to a computer engineer to help me partition d memory, the dude used window 7 proffesional 32bit OS. Now the volume key and screen brightness key on d key board is no longer working. (1) What is d difference btw windows 7 premium nd windows 7 proffessional? (2) What is the implication of d downgrade 4rm 64bit to 32bit operating system? (3) How do i get d shortcut brightness nd volume key working again? Thanks |

Now the volume key and screen brightness key on d key board is no longer working.normally,its fine to downgrade a 64 bit os to 32 bit..except its not properly done should u experience problems..by default,windows runs a compatibility test before installing..but in your case,it would display an error because you are not downgrading an os in the same class(windows 7 home premium is more inferior to windows 7 pro)except that the graphics is 64bit.. as i have always maintained,there are some precautionary steps u must make before u downgrade or upgrade a system but most people throw caution to the wind.. here is wat u asked for...difference between premium,pro http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/compare#T1=tab01 1 Like |

Hello Guys, Pls help me out with my laptop problem. It has refused to boot. Did a system memory test and it came out 100% okay. However i got this message: Hard disk test failed. Boot device not found (3FO). Before taking it out for repairs, is there anything i can do on my own? Its a mini Hp notebook... |

Vijon: My Acer aspire 5735 shuts down when it gets to d point where. I ve to input my password.bt it boots well wen I use d safe mood.I checked d ram nd its fix properly.did a system restore frm d safe mood nd restarted, it restarted with a message 'preparing your desktop'.it lasted for few mintues nd ended up wit a black screen with a pop up messages C:/window/system32/config/systemprofile/Desktop refers to a location that is unavailable .plz any tip on hw to fix dis.tanks |

HI GUYS, Please Help Me i use acer aspire laptop.When ever i connect laptop to internet after some time when i use internet my display goes off. bluish and black and blank screen appears. then always i press power button and then the laptop goes to sleep. after few second when i again press power button it continues normally from where the display went off.This loop continues when i use my laptop. This problem occur regularly only when i use internet and i repeat same process to use it. Please help me. |

indrija: aside replacing the battery what other solution..?question is...is the battery working perfectly before? What happened exactly? Physical damage like falling or what? It should atleast detect the battery...or else even if you change the battery same might apply. Get it to an engr to help you check. |

Greetings to you all. My Lenovo laptop always give a loud continuous beeping sound for close to 60 beeps on startup. After booting to desktop, the keypad will not respond until after typing the figure 1 several times on its own accord at the start menu search bar. The Laptop is 18 months old and I changed the keyboard 6 months ago after I experienced this same scenario. Please I need your help. Still an hardware problem. 60 beebs...i guess the keyboard . Cant say anything until i see it physically. Best bet take it to a sound engineer. sam here or adetwin. Hello great engineers... Pls,i use a hp 620 laptop...i currently hv a problem wif my screen...most times when using it...it brings a white blank display then returns to normal afta i shake d lid....it was once in a while b4 buh its now bcoming very very frequent...d more d lid of d laptop is touched/shaked,d display brings up a white blank screen....n returns to normal afta shaking again.. Pls what is d problem  ?? |

pls help me tech's here, I shut down my hp 4515s probook and the system was trying to update files, but as it was taking it like one and half hours, so I tried to switch it off with the power button bcoz I taught something was wrong with the system and I switched it on again nd it still shows that d system is still updating and it took it like one hour again and still no progress. it stood still at update 5 out of 10.now I have switched off the system, please wot can I do now. please help me. |

Hello house, I want to open a file with pdf with the 'open with' option. I didnt know I've clicked on pc suite .exe file next to the file I wanted to open. The 'open other similar files' check box was already ticked, then I clicked open. This, turned all .exe(executable n setup) files in my laptop to pdf(logo). As it is now my avast antivirus cant open or update, browser have pdf logo, encarta cant open, many things have turned pdf n it cant open them. I need help on how to reverse it n make them start working proparlly again. I dont want the laptop to crash, 'cos I bought it new after loosing 2previous brand new ones. |
