What is the distinct difference between a laptop with Duo Core and the one with Core 2 Duo processor?

I need help

My new HP laptop is working but nothing seems to be showing on the screen. You can see all programs on the background of the screen, but sort of no illumination to project it clearly to the user.

I have tried all i could but to no avail. Kindly advice accordingly please.

Thank you for the above enquiry and do appreciate your explanations.
look for and press FN+F4 or F5 to increase and decrease the brightness.

Is this XP or Vista ? Does this happen when running on charger ? This can either
be a software or a hardware issue. Here's your prescription in narrowing down
the cause. Make sure charger is connected> turn on>keep pressing F10 or F1
until you see a blue screen >Bios setup utility> when you're in Bios>
Does the screen looks the same ?

@Omega: I had run a freinds flash drive on my system and it happend that the thing get virus which my sysem dictated. After cleaning de stuff, thats when de wahalla begin. After enabling it in Foder options and acepting de okay, u ll still find that the option remains as before like say u click cancel.

Go to Start --> Run, then type Regedit
2. Navigate to the registry folder HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHO WALL
3. Find a key called CheckedValue.
4. Double Click CheckedValue key and modify it to 1. This is to show all the hidden files.)

pls i want to install windows xp for someone but his cdrom is not working and the only option is to use a flash, but the last time i formatted a pc with a flash it was one engr that did it for me,so please can i get the steps and the software because i can remember there is a software u have to install in the flash to make it bootable or so.

Internet Connection Sharing using a computer

Firstly, you need two network cards on the computer. It will work exactly like the router with a WAN interface and a LAN interface.
Now the easiest way available if you are using Windows XP is to go to Network Connections and select the "Set up a home or small office network" link from the left panel. This will open a wizard that will guide you in completing the task.
If you don't want to use the wizard, you just need to configure the ICS option. First go to Network Connections and select the two connections, right click and select the bridge option. This will make the two cards aware of each other.

Now right click the connection to the Internet and select Properties. On the opened box, uncheck the Client for Microsoft Networks and File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks protocols because it's a security risk.
Now click the Advanced tab and select the Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection. It's a good idea to enable the first option too if you don't have a firewall installed on the machine. Now all the computers in the network should access the server's Internet connection.

if you right click on the connection, does it have enable?

also on most HP laptops there is a physical switch which turns the wireless on/off

or goto device manager

control panel>
system>
hardware tab>
device manager button>

network adapters
click on the + sign

you should see the WLAN rightclick and enable

On vista

device manager button, should be listed on the left hand side>

you can either enable it by turning on your wifi card ( most computers have a switch or button) or you can verify that the drivers for you wifi/bluetooth card is installed by checking your device manager ( start -> run -> devmgmt.msc ) check to see if you have a yellow triangle on the network card. or go to my network connections, right click on the wireless connection icon and enable it if it is disabled

you want to go to control pannel, then regional and language options then look for keyboard and languages and click on the options and select either english united states or english united kingdom. Apply and that should solve that issue.

What version is your email clients  e.g. windows mail, thunderbird, yahoo etc

What happen when you try to reply. any error message ? Is this XP or Vista ?
