When Rivers United got humiliated by a Sudanese Club, BascoVanVeli was making the point about crowd intimidation.

Lowly Madagascar just beat the national team at home. Do you think, they did not face intimidation too?

I knew he was NEVER going to pay for us. You see these guys Solanke, Lookman, Onomah and Ojo they would NEVER play for Nigeria even if there's no 3 Lions callup by the time they are 30yrs. They only see themselves as Nigerians because their parents told them that they the parents come from Nigeria. That's the only connection they have. They don't care much about Naija. So let's erase the team sheet fantasies with these guys.

I would have added Tomori but his earlier romance with Canada and subsequent switch to England shows he has a tendency to be an "ashawo/aristo". I think whoever offers him a better prospect at senior team level would get his services. His preferential order would be England, Canada and Slightly Naija.

tbaba1234:

Nigeria is actually short in defense. There is plenty talent in other areas.

Really true, most of them won't want to be associated with Nigeria in any way. No be by force to play for naija.

I wish them the best in their careers anyways.

There's this German/Nigerian "Fabian sinniger" - a right-back, plays for Hanover who had an interview with channels TV last year, he expressed his desire to play for, stating that winning the world cup with Germany would be easier, but he wants to be one of the very special set of chaps to win the World Cup with Nigeria.

We can't have them all, let's have those that we can and lose those we can't.

Don't be naïve, Rivers united played a single club in Sudan and not Sudan as a whole. Those fans did not represent the whole of Sudan.
