I haven't heard much about this guy.

Instituting the principle that the only basis for selection is continous consistent top quality performances in your club and league. *1st bolded

At one stage the Bundesliga was rated number 2 in Europe. We had a player who had not played any first team games invited to the SE. *2nd bolded

What I am saying he should at least have been invited to see what he can do and if he performs then selection.

Admittedly not impressive he only scored 4 Bundesliga goals all season but then KC scored 4 over two seasons and was still considered.

There is a DOUBLE STANDARD.

Out of ignorance (from the first bolded), yet another trash spewed, all in a bid to slack Osimhen(ur nightmare) at the second bolded. Where in the first bolded did Ujah measure up to those demands and who told u he has never been invited before?

That was his first full season after he left the bundesliga for China. He only started 6 games out of 22 matches and managed to score 4 goals.

Despite that, he was bought by Union Berlin for 2m Euros. Can you explain why a club will waste €2m on an average player in the Bundesliga?

Ighalo became a member of Nigeria National team at 26 while Anthony became a member of the national team at 23.

Ighalo was brought back to the team at 28 by Rohr. What is problem if the same Rohr brings back Anthony Ujah to the team at 28?
lol, please don't late act like 2mill is huge funds or Union Berlin are champions league regular the truth us Ujah is an average player we saw him at the confederations cup, nothing to write home about subsequently dropped from the team and nobody raised an eyebrow. He can hit form again and get invited to the national team no wahala but don't paint him like he's one Yekini we should be expecting to see

This guy was a consistent performer in the Bundesliga.

Though he was called to the national team at the early stage of his career in the Bundesliga when he scored 12 goals in the league but was ignored ever since then despite the fact that he continued to score double digit goals for another two seasons.

12 and 14 goals for that matter yet looking at Anthony Ujah, he doesn't know how to play.

This is the first time he scored 4 goals in the Bundesliga in a full season. Maybe because he played 9 matches coming on in the last 14 - 8 minutes of those matches.
and why did this happen if I may ask
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by chrisooblog: 2:31pm On Aug 01, 2019
according to transfer market he played 90 minutes against namibia, 51 against tahiti and 45 against mexico plus the tanzania match how's that not enough chance to showcase yourself?

forgiveness:

He was just coming up then at 23. One match is not enough to condemn a player.

He came on as a substitute against Tanzania. Not enough to rate him.

i did not said so,
but even if he score 100 goals in a season, his chance of getting call up is zeeelest as 1%
I think I agree with you, he's old and Mr Rhor is looking to cut down the average age plus he's not bringing anything new to the team it's not like he'll suddenly turn to a goal machine he no go still score pass 10/12 goals

Yes but almost all the teams he played on were makeshift. Even against Uganda when he had his last chance he didn't join a team he only joined individuals who had just been put together.

This is a very big fat lie. Ujah left Norway for Germany in 2011 to team up with Mainz where he played 12 games with a paltry 2 goals return, from 2011-2013.

His next stop was Cologne in the Bundesliga2 where he enjoyed a whit purple patch, not the Bundesliga as u claimed. With Cologne in the Bundesliga2 he played a total of 62matches with 15 goals from 2012-2014.

In the 2014/15 season with same Cologne now in the Bundesliga, he played a total of 32matches with only 10 goals

2015/16 he joined Bremen, scored 11 in 30 appearances, then he left for China.

Back from China, he joined Mainz again to score a paltry 4 in a total of 23.

Please where did he score the consecutive double digits Bundesliga goals? In Pluto abi Venus? Abi u wan sell Bobo this afternoon grin

Anthony Ujah's stats for 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 seasons in the Bundesliga 1. Remove his Chinese league goals and assists in 2015/2016 and you are left with 11 goals and 5 assists.

Is it still consistent double digits goals?

You claimed he played 62 matches and scored ONLY 15 goals in the Bundesliga 2, right?

Look below and tell me have gone beyond 1+1= 2

Ps: he scored double digits goals for two seasons consecutively not 3.

How is this painting him Yekini?

It doesn't matter who scored against a smaller team weda na tahiti or iceland

The oduamadi that scored hatrick has he had a better career?
