OK. EA won't assess him as an engineering manager.
AIM assesses Managers.
So if he wants to be assessed as that, he will have to assess with AIM.
That's the body the original poster assessed with.
Good luck

Oh, now I get it. Thank you so much for taking out time to explain.

Please house I'm here again with my confusion.

I wanted to do an assessment too just to increase our chances at ITA. I checked VETASSESS site and saw that I can only assess if I was in paid employment within the last 5 years. Mine has been almost 10years since I practiced and got paid as a valuer.

Please is there any other way or option for me. I studied estate management but I'm now a fashion designer. Since I'm younger than my husband, my getting a positive assessment will add 15 points for us.

Please e-fam, I need your opinions and advice.

You were paid for almost 10years working as a valuer.

Did you work for someone or a company?
If yes, can you show acct statement to justify that salary is been paid during that period?

Was it sole proprietorship? if yes
do you have a registered business name?
do you have a business account that shows that you run that business over 10years?
Do you have company tax clearance/ receipt?

All they want is VALID documents to support your claim.

Yes it was for a multinational.

And no, not 10years as a valuer. I stopped working as a valuer in July 2008 (almost 10years ago).

I can still get all valid documents, everything.
It's the length of time that lapsed that is my issue.

I'm not so sure but I think Futo is tier 2 as well, but since all courses are five years it's equivalent to Australian Bachelor's

Thank you so much, I'd go with your advise now that I can still grab 15pts from age. I hope Mr Olalekankad is still regular on NL, will try and reach him. Once again thank you

Nominate Electrician General - 341111 as it is less competitive and its being sponsored by virtually all the states. With it you have all the visa subclasses. Best of luck boss!

Yes. You will have to rewrite again and get a minimum of 79 in each band to claim 20 points.

As it is now, you can only claim 10 points

The 190 list preferred. The points are not going to be enough to fight for 189 as I know it is very competitive these days.

It's more about the occupation being nominated really. Not all occupations are available on both list.

Good Morning good people. Please help a confused Nigerian ooo...biko

I received a feedback on my assessment as an ICT Business Analyst from ACS that my skills are not closely related to my nominated ANZSCO code. It was recommended that Systems Administrator is suitable.

Now I am told if i have to change to this new code I have to pay additional 200AUD. The problem I have with this code is this, not only is it barely related to what I do (I looked up this code, so I don't know how it relates), I had barely more than 2 years experience at the start of my career (so I am surprised at this recommendation) but the major issue is the role is not eligible for the 189 visa. And very few states sponsor it with clauses.

My experience is below: (All, except 2007-2009 role, were with the same employer)
Services Dispatch Manager / Tools and Processes Manager 2016 - 2017.
Tools and Processes Manager August 2013 - January 2016 (Service Dispatch Manager was an additional role to this)
Local Database Administrator 2010 - 2013
Change Management Administrator 2009 – 2010
Network Controller 2007 – 2009.

In view of this, what do I do?

Am I supposed to wait for them to conclude this then I appeal the assessment? Although they didn't mention a need for clarity or additional documents. Or do I concede to the fate of Systems Administrator which most states don't seem to want? angry undecided

Please help an aspiring Nigerian searching for saner/greener pasture. Please advise me (Are there any alternative options I could take?)

Please help.

go ahead of the experience you are claiming point is the same (or closely related) to what youbare processing. All the best.

Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by Azy123(m): 11:34am On Feb 19, 2018
Sorry about this situation.

Assessments officers , especially ACS, only look at your job descriptions to determine which occupation you fir into. Some job title ring bells and one can easily have an idea of where they fit e.g

Local Database Administrator 2010 - 2013
Network Controller 2007 – 2009.

While some ring no bells at all e.g ( for me the following does not even give me an idea of what the job entails)

Services Dispatch Manager / Tools and Processes Manager 2016 - 2017.
Tools and Processes Manager August 2013 - January 2016 (Service Dispatch Manager was an additional role to this)
Change Management Administrator 2009 – 2010

So,

Ultimately the job descriptions determines occupation you are assessed as.

I see 2 options for you

1) Do nothing = sure negative assessment for ICT biz Analyst. Then do a review by resubmitiing refrence letters with the right Job descriptions. that means you will pay 375 AUD and get a positive assessment in ICT Biz Analyst ( note that ICT biz analyst is currently on 75 points)

2) Accept their suggestion = System Administrator 200AUD. Apply 489 to NT and SA (but note that SA requires high point- 70 points. 60+10). You can still review with new reference letter with correct JD for ICT Biz Analyst while you hold System Administrator positive assessment first.

@Azy123

I understand what you mean and it is just so painful because the Reference letter submitted had a detailed description of what each job entailed. Each career episode was clearly explained. sad

I am also afraid that apart from not be able to get 189 Visa, would accepting Systems Admin not mean I may get a few years cut off my experience since about 6 years of it is not relevant to Systems admin?

Also, I see NT wants evidence of employment in NT for Systems Admin. eligibility.
SA also says low availability.

I am at a crossroad here. I don't know what to do. Time is not favorable as I would be 40 in about 2 months, hence losing a few more points.

I wish they had even asked for clarity or more documentation.

Place of work, titles cannot be changed and HR has no idea what it is a person actually does. only line managers do. But HR is the one that gives references based on the titles on the offer letters and job role change, but the Job descriptions were drafted to fit ICT Business analyst as it is what I do.

What do I do? I am afraid Systems Admin offers flickering hope sad

The 85 points that SA requires, is it for all nominated jobs or some particular ict jobs?

I understand your worry but 2 questions
1. Would you be able to able to make at least 75 points after positive outcome
2. If yes to 1. would u consider having ur line manager do a statutory declaration? And then ask HR to do you a reference letter without JD?
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by olapj: 12:39pm On Feb 19, 2018
@ZoeW

I am hoping that post assessment, I should be able to make 75. (hoping ACS wont cut off anything, experience or education).

I currently have 2 statutory declarations of my Line Managers within these periods. Do you think I could send this to them? Would it help this current assessment?

Or I would have to wait for them to conclude?
