Yea kudos..... Buh dis guy nid orientation why did he remove d whole brt fashola brought nd still destroying the bus-stops..... D moni e is usin tu bring new bus can b used for other things
.

Quiet jor, if u no know something, u go ask or make research instead on criticising people unnecessarily. What he is doing make sense. We don't want danfos againn they drive anyhow against the traffic and cause many accident and get away with laws mostly. The danfos are mostly used to carry out criminal activities cos they don't have tags and they don't ply specific routes. They work everywhere which is not supposed to be so. I support the govt on that. so the money he used in bringing the new buses are not waste. He wants to faced out the danfos and the old BRT systematically. The old BRT does not have AC mostly and the old operators of the BRT don't have proper maintenance culture towards the BRT, if you look at the old BRT truly after few years they have wear out. The old operators of BRT gave shabby services, gradually they are been faced out, people are just still boarding it cos the new ones have not gone around well enough. As a gov, he tried to call the old operators to meeting and wanted them to reasoned along with his dreams to restructured the old BRT but the talk broke down and he was left without option than to bring in new ones which he achieved by Private Public Partnership (PPP) so the most of the money comes from Private pockets not Lagos State money. So he is on point with that idea. So how can I be paying for a useless service on the old BRT without AC, no comfort, the operators even talk to passengers anyhow and the buses are not well maintained. They are gradually wearing out.

You don't get it, Gov. Ambode is not eradicating danfos, he is facing them out. Here is what that implies. He will not stop them from doing their business but competition and nature will with time. They will still run their danfos and he will partner with Private Partners to buy some sets of buses that will ply the same routes as danfos. And these buses will also have AC, comfortable for passengers than danfos and even more cheaper and passenger will be made to choose their preference. Considering wide range of services the govt buses will even offer. You can check online to know when the buses will be at the bus stop and when it will leave, this kind of services danfos don't render. So the buses will be 30 seater and people will obvious want to ply govt buses over danfo and with time, due to stiff competition danfos will be made to pack off. Not that govt will drive them away. So as for them loosing jobs, its not the fault of govt but their own fault n competition so when they offer good services to the passenger they will be patronised. Even the public operators of danfos and their union support the new initiative of govt on that new 30 seater buses.

Also, govt was aware of this, that's why it gave the danfo owners an opportunity to also key into the govt new buses program. That is, if they also have interest to buy some of the buses, they will be released to them also. That's is fair enough.

As for the old BRT loosing job also its not the fault of govt also. Before govt partner with Private partners on the acquisition of the new BRT, they tried every means to make the old BRT system work but the people disagreed with the govt on maintenance, repair and the kind of hash services they give to passengers. Because govt have series of cases whereby passengers have been treated poorly by the Operators of the old BRT. Yet govt called them for meeting to see how they can address and tackle the problem but the meeting broke down in deadlock. Govt tried and even exhausted all means they thought available before switching attention to Private partners who have the money and were ready to do business since it seems the old BRT operators are not ready. If you are the govt, you will do more. If you have a business partner, that is, you received complained from your teeming customers who put food on your table and you tried to advice your partner on the right way of doing things and the partner is adamant only wanting to do things his way all the time; won't you back out? Cos if you don't back out and you thereby apply sentiment, it will affect your customers. In business, the interest of your customers is suppose to come first even before yours, cos its the same customers that patronise you and put roof over your head so they deserve to be treated right. So if the old BRT operators are loosing job its not govt fault. The new buses govt bought is another avenue govt used to create job. When some people loose job some gets job. Such. Is life. The old buses are still in operation so they have not lost jobs, they will loose job to competition. If the old BRT needs to be maintained and carry out repair; its the old BRT operators responsibility not that of govt. So I see nothing wrong in what govt has done ok.

NOTE: I don't work for govt but I have to let you know what I know about this.

dats bullshit imagine rail system running in lagos people wunt hav course tu chill for brt.....

How many places will the rail serve?
The rail system in Lagos will still be grossly inadequate even if the Lagos state govt completes the projects because most of the hinterland will not be connected. It will only help to reduce the pressure and traffic jams on the roads. Majority of the people will still use the buses.
And then clueless governor builds bus stops that cannot function as real bus stops.

Ambode to me is on a better track than Fashola's govt. But let's hope he doesn't lose track.
