If you see wetin happen today! Nairaland strong oo. My broker failed to buy my stocks since monday, so I paid him a visit this morning and threatened to report his delays on Nairaland, infact I pulled out my laptop and started typing, and he got serious!

He started issuing orders about my purchase, infact the stocks were overbought. Some were bought twice grin grin

I have seen a way to harrass these people, just pull your Nairaland ID and everybody will behave.

THANKS, I HAVE GOT AMMUNITION TO HARRASS LEAD CAPITAL.

Unic's forward PE is 28.72.

I just press the ejector capsule from inside my Lawunion rocket today. Hopefully I go land for another fully gassed turbo jet engine.

I am doing the same tomorrow with my remaining units.

Na wa for this UNICs P.E ooo - see numbers just change like that.

I bought Afribank today, but it will lose tommorow from the look of things, it closed on offer and high/low were all the same at minus 5% If it does I better average it by more buys on monday.

Forget that net clo bid you saw from today. Many will be withdrawn by tomorrow as the lower price becomes unattractive to sellers.

Just take note of one thing. If the stock drops another 10%, the price will be less than the offer price of the just concluded PO of N25. Somehow I don't see it happening.

There is one big problem though. Afribank has come out with Q-3 results already and End of Year is March, so what exactly can be used to stabilize or push up the price?? Hmm, Abracadabra.
Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by shigidi(m): 10:10pm On Jan 17, 2008
afribank looks sweet now, or at least a bit cheaper, it will look even better if it drops a little tweeny more

Speaking of overbought/oversold; Oceanic is soooooo oversold at the moment. 9 day RSI is ~ 11. Dunno if they've "finished paying for the PO sins" but the forward PE (~17) and low RSI show that this is a good stock and a good time to buy. I'm into UBA though, just thot I'd point out the Oceanic numbers.

@ Easimoni - Did you factor in the newly listed Shares?

Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 11:06pm On Jan 17, 2008
@ pumping, easimoni, wanajo, I have question, buying parent companies as against their subsidiaries/ branches, which is better, I am presently torn between buying UACN or UACP or CAP, see the link. Also am considering between AGLeventis NBC, Bete glass.

All sister companies, cant I just buy into UACN and still enjoy profits from UACP and CAP, since the profits will find its way into UACN PAT?

Help me out here guys.

Something confuses me about the insurance sector, why is linkage still selling at a PE of around 7 and losing steam?

I thought it was cheap at that price. The EPS is even higher than that of Wapic at 54 kobon while Wapic stands at 22 kobo.

Am I missing something?

Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 11:21pm On Jan 17, 2008
That news about banks unifying their year ending- when will it take effect? Does it mean they will stop giving end year results till december this year? How will AGM schedule look like, when all banks will be trying to hold theirs within Feb, March?
Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 11:26pm On Jan 17, 2008
@ prince11, if the end year for Afribank is march, then the expectation of a good end year result will make ppl to také early position, just like UBN and FBN.

Share price does not move by EPS alone, there is a lot of sentiments as well. One sentiment for WAPIC is the fact it is a bank subsidiary.

This is just one factor among others o.

Thanks, i'll try my account officer in a couple of days,

Shortly after I posted the earlier response, I got an email from my new account officer @ this time of day!!!

I smell better times ahead already.

Lets hope it continues 'cos I was thinking of carrying my small change to Afriinvest before.

All the best to you "model".

I see a situation where GTB will release FY results by second week of february, less than a month from now.

They will want to keep up the speed of UBA and Zenith in releasing theirs so early in the year.

This bank will run in a short time, on your marks.

Yeee! 200 pages, I better employ a good reader to do that searching for me. It will také like one year to read through.
